My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Portis for over 20 years and have always been impressed and very happy with our care. He performed my wife's LASIK with great results, and he just replaced my cataracts with Toric lenses and the Femtosecond laser, with fantastic results.I was more terrified than the average person I suppose and ready to travel ANYWHERE to have cataract surgery if it meant lessening the risk of complications, though some of the people around him (and other MD's) convinced me he'd be a great choice. Excellent service and very efficient! Even during a pandemic they seem to have a great process down for serving a number of patients efficiently so that the waiting room doesn’t get backed up or crowded.

I went and saw Dr. Portis recently for LASIK. I had terrible vision. My left was -10 and my right was -9.50. I had both Myopia and Astigmatism in both eyes. Basically, I couldn’t function at all without glasses or contacts because my prescription was so high. I had gone to other doctors who saw my prescription and automatically disqualified me but I was told that Dr. Portis likes a challenge and would still do a full exam to see if there was any opportunity to help me.
