We had to get 77 coats embroidered recently and because of certain constraints each year, we can't get them done too early because we need to wait for the names that are to be embroidered. Having priced them out to the various embroidery shops, many times there is a long wait for completion unless you pay a pretty penny for each item submitted which makes the costs astronomical. This was my first time at Park's Embroidery and it won't be my last, I can tell you that. The shop is located in Kuliou'ou with no signage so you pretty much need to google map your way in. Watch out for the mama duck and adorable ducklings who frequently stroll through the driveway like human mothers casually pushing their babies in strollers for an afternoon walk. The shop is located through the French glass door off to the left. Once inside there are gazillion machines going off at the same time which you'd never hear or notice before you enter. You might need to call out to Mr. Park who you can barely make out through the many machines, until he pops his head out. This man knows embroidery and has been doing it for years on end. When I walked in, the machines seemed to be filled up with a sea of blue shirts from a notable school in the back of Kalihi. Mr. Park looked at my two huge boxes of coats, while I looked at his mountain of blue shirts plus the boxes of "yet to do" items placed next to the entrance and gave me the look my dad often sent me. You know, the one with the furrowed brow almost to say "you've gotta be kidding me right? You need them when?" Lol. But after some explaining from my part, that sweet man shook his head (like my dad did) and talked me through the details of my job. One thing that sets this store apart aside from the adorable Mr. Park is that his weave is much tighter than the previous jobs we have had done which will make your item last longer after washes. At first the thread on the sample looked darker than usual, but Mr. Park showed me the spool of thread we originally matched to my sample item and he was right. But his above and beyond service had him drive to another shop to get me a lighter green just so the wording would be brighter! Now that's customer service! And the price? Way way better than what I had paid earlier and was quoted from other businesses. As far as I'm concerned, I intend to use Park's Embroidery whenever possible in the future! The job was beautiful and I was so happy I brought him snacks the next time! Lol! Mr. Park you're the best in my book!
