This morning I went to pick up my dry cleaning and there was 3 of us customers waiting, as the individual name Scott, kept on talking with the Filipino woman on the phone as we walked in one by one.
As we all waited patiently, he offered no courtesy to his patrons. He could as easily told us “I’ll be right with you” or maybe expressed to the Filipino woman if he could call her back as he had customers in line waiting. We all waited and listen to his conversation for abt 5 minutes +.
Then after he hung up, he offered no apologies so I gave him my ticket and he took my money and came back as said “I don’t have change?” I asked him what was...read full review
Appalling and Deceptive Pricing Practices at Hakuyosha Dry CleaningHakuyosha Dry Cleaning has ludicrous and seemingly deceptive pricing policies. At my recent visit to your establishment, I experienced firsthand the utter lack of transparency in the way you present your prices to unsuspecting customers. Frankly, it is nothing short of scandalous, a bamboozlement of epic proportions. When I approached your staff to inquire about the cost for dry cleaning a suit, I was quoted a fee of $30 for the top and bottom, which, to be honest, seemed reasonable and would fall within the standard competitive price range adhered to by other deserving dry cleaners in the locality.However,...read full review
Last September I had to do a complete move out check out with my property management company which included curtain dry cleaning. I moved back into the same house and started a brand new lease with a new roommate. Unfortunately we had to move out again 1 year later as the owners decided to take back the house. Last year, I was quoted at $1 per square foot totaling at $283.32. I was given that quote and agreed to the price BEFORE it was shipped to the place where it's treated. Fast forward to this year where we are going through the same process with the same exact curtains. I dropped off the curtains friday 9/29. No one told us the price was raised. No one gave us a quote before treatment like last time. Tuesday I was informed that it would cost $847.42 because their price went up and it's $0.80 per square foot. Which is actually 20cents lower than last year. I told them no thank you that I don't want them done. They said they're already finished but aren't ready for pick up. It's for a 2 bedroom house. There was absolute no way it should cost 564.10 more. I asked to speak to the manager and he reached out. He gave me the square footage of the 12 curtains from last year (348 square feet) and the square footage of those same 12 curtains for this year (767 square feet). I don't know how they magically grew. I went and measured the windows which were roughly 257 square feet. I knew the curtains would be a little longer and wider, but not that much. After going back and forth with the manager (who I will say is very kind and the only one I dealt with that actually understands customer service) he decided to "honor" last years prices despite me "believing" they are the same curtains. I told him that I KNEW they're the same since it's 100% of the curtains from the exact same house... i went in to pick them up today with a tape measure and was met with the same rude woman who screamed to me on the phone that I was required to pay the $847.42. I asked her not to touch the curtains multiple times and repeatedly told her I didn't need help while I was measuring and she didn't listen. She yelled at me that I was doing it wrong when in fact I was doing it correctly. She told me I had to only measure from the bottom with the pleats stretched out instead of the top. This is exactly why there was such a large discrepancy. The curtains are pleated and sewn together at the top. Last year they measured the top width and their height. This year they stretched out the pleats despite them hanging folded and at the same length and measured the width across the bottom. Only 3 sets of 2 curtains are the same size. The other 6 were completely different. But they had sets of 3 and 4 curtains the same in their calculations. But for example, one of the curtains measured 4 ft along the top and 5ft in height. So last year that was considered 20 square feet. Along the bottom with the pleats stretched its 8.5ft. She was considering that 42.5 square feet. She was calculating the square footage as if it was a rectangle and charging for non existent square footage. The square footage both times should've been calculated for a trapezoid which for that curtain would've been 31.25 square feet. Either way it is illegal to bait and switch prices. When I paid $283.32 last year I was given the quote before it was dry cleaned and approved that price. This year they did it and the woman working the store demanded I pay $847.42. Idk why she thinks she can make up her own math/geometry. So thankful to the manager that honored the price (he deserves 5 stars) but he should really reconsider who he has in the store since she's clearly scamming people and adding copious amounts of square footage so that she can overcharge. Terrible face of what was otherwise a wonderful company to work with last year. It's why I came back this year but unfortunately I'll never go back now.
