“I have no reason to write this. Habib is in such demand, he doesn't need good reviews to keep him afloat. But having bumped into other hairdressers and encountering their tactics, I feel compelled to write about why I like Habib. Habib is an artist. He recognizes the state and shape of your hair and the state and shape of you. He has nuance when he cuts hair and doesn't try to force down a client's throat generic templates of what is "in" or what the industry is dictating looks good. I never feel belittled by his style sense or the choices I make regarding personal style or even products. Don't get me wrong -- Habib is always current. He knows what techniques and looks are the industry standard. He indeed is responsible with his craft. But he knows how to help his clients rise rather than hamstringing them into a dependency on him specifically or his product offerings. Habib is never heavy-handed about how often to get services from him, and he doesn't push products or create product dependency. The irony is that it is just that trait that causes my dependency on him specifically. I cannot say enough great things about him as a person, as an artist and the work he does. I just hope he cuts hair for the rest of my life!“

Later on, I saw another boy getting his hair braided and I wanted something different, besides the basic 'upside-down' bowl cut. Soon I was looking fabulous with amazing highlights on my curls. “The owner Rattiya's is so nice I called at 0800am before they are opened and she said she can take me in at 1000. I arrived 30 minutes early and she still sees me anyway. I came in with grown out black roots and bleach highlights thru out so it was a mess. I showed her what I want my hair to look like, was a lighter brown tone . She dyed my hair twice and cut it too and worked on me for like 2 hours and 45 minutes and only charged 156 what a steal. Highly recommends anyone if you look for an affordable hair cut and style. She does take walk in but get booked pretty fast so I recommends calling ahead for an appointment!“

“I had my first appointment with Kyong of MK Skin Renew on Saturday (1/4/2025). Setting up the appointment was so easy! All I did was text the owner (Ms. Kyong) at the number posted on her website. She listened to my concerns and made evaluation on her own; then I requested we go with her recommended treatment. I had some extractions and a hydrafacial. Afterwards she recommended me some products, which she had already used on my skin during treatment. She carries different brands and lines of products of all types but recommends only those which she thinks will best help your specific skin. She explains her reasoning for picking the products and provides a step by step routine. I really appreciate both the personalized approach and her experience/vast knowledge. You can tell she really knows what she is talking about. My second appointment with her was on Saturday (1/25). I had used the products she recommended me and implemented them in my routine per her step-by-step guidelines. She assessdd the progress of my skin and we both agreed it got much better. Again I had a hydrofacial (maybe a deluxe version)? and had extractions done. We set a date for my third appointment. This morning, Friday (1/31/25) my husband randomly commented on the new quality of my skin. He has been away for about a month and I did not tell him about my new skincare routine or about the treatments I've been getting at MK Skin Renew. He said "Your skin looks different. Like it's glowing. It looks really good! It's better. What are you doing?" To hear that from someone who sees me everyday and knows what I look like in detail really solidified what I already felt: Kyong is a knowledgable skin goddess! and I'm so happy to have stumbled upon her business. Located in Chinatown cultural plaza right next to the stage. I always thought this place would be too expensive because of its modern look. Little did I know that this is probably the cheapest place for a haircut nowadays. Parking is available at cultural plaza or meter street parking. I don't the cost of the parking but they do validate. I called a day before and schedule an appointment. I didn't have any specific person to request since I never been there before. So I just said whoever is available so I can get my hair cut. I was schedule around lunchtime on a Saturday. They were quite busy as I still waited for 15 minutes after my appointment time. There were about 3-4 workers who works there that greeted me when I walked in. I showed them the hair style I want on my phone and he gave me some suggestions. For $35, you get a deep hair wash, and haircut. That's a pretty awesome deal. Throughout the experience, great customer service and communication. I would definitely be back to get my haircut here or possibly some sort of hair styling.“
