aloha, i would like to covey a heartfelt(Mahalos) to the staff (Linda, Dr. Rowe as well as the front desk ladies) for their great customer service. i was so pleased with their knowledge , professionalism and pleasant personality on how they greeted My husband and i .customer service is very rare to find because all the other places i have gone to, no one has that special customer service they have provided . i will definitely refer my friends and family to Linda, Dr. Rowe and the front desk ladies for their outstanding customer service. Dr Rowe was extremely helpful. After doing the initial intake which was done by 4 or 5 machines I then met with him and he then continued the testing of my eyes. He let me know I needed progressive lenses for my line of work after asking me a series of questions. He told me how to practice with them. Because I have one recessive gene for macular degeneration he also said that it would be good to have them be polychromatic. Because I need to always wear shades when out in the sun and if my prescription glasses automatically darken that would help a lot versus taking glasses on and off or switching. He let me know I could also come back if I decided instead of glasses I want contacts. And then he also told me in order for me to do some preventative care for my eyes not getting macular degeneration I should take lutein and eat a lot of greens outside of wearing Dark Shades whenever out in the sun. I was very happy with the service that I received here because it is my first eye exam ever and I am 50 years old.

I have been benefiting from Dr Rowe's very thorough exams since his arrival to hilo almost 10 years ago.Yes , he can come across a bit quirkyHOWEVERHe is always interested in getting you the best vision possible. He even found a creative combination of contact lenses that compensate for my astigmatism..This island needs more doctors like him.
