Very rude staff, even I experienced this when I called and picked up new patient paperwork. This is from my boyfriend who had the appointment:I am born and raised in Hawaii, with Hawaiian blood and Dr. Gina Salcedo and her rude receptionist were the worst and most unprofessional doctor and receptionist I have ever met in my entire life! First, the receptionist was rude to my girlfriend who went to pick up the new patient paperwork and then rude to me when I dropped it off. She acts irritated to open the door and acts like she thinks her job is to sit on her fat butt all day and do nothing. She asks "Do you have an appointment?" and never "How may I help you?" or "Aloha!"...read full review
She asks "Do you have an appointment?" and never "How may I help you?" or "Aloha!" My first scheduled appointment, I went to two wrong offices before I found the right door. I did not remember the name of Dr. Gina or the room number 207 at the time and I did not have my cellphone. By the time I found the right door, the rude receptionist told me I was late and had to reschedule. She didn't even tell the doctor I came. She was super rude again and needs to be fired ASAP. I asked if the doctor was busy with someone else and she said no but just sent me away anyway. So I said, well I guess that Doctor has an easier day now that she doesn't have to see me...That sassy receptionist should not be talking to anyone in healthcare. She doesn't seem to know her job is to get paid to talk nicely to people, not act like an ugly, grumpy troll. Drive through window workers have more manners than her. She gives Big Island and healthcare a bad name and I don't even know how she got hired. She's bad for business and the reason I'm writing this review! My rescheduled appointment was three weeks later on the 20th at 11:15 am. Today, I got there, and this time I didn't say anything to the receptionist. When I was waiting for the doctor in the room, the first thing that Dr. Gina Salcedo did was come into the room and accuse me of being rude and kick me out of her office because she said I was rude to her receptionist. Apparently Dr. Gina Salcedo is a coward who works for her receptionist. They made me wait three weeks just to tell me that! These two women are completely disgusting and a disgrace to healthcare. I've never had that happen to me ever in my life. Without even introducing herself, Dr. Gina Salcedo straight up said her receptionist actually complained that I was rude and because of that I had to find someone else who takes my insurance. I was so furious, my voice was shaking because I was trying not to yell. I cleared my whole day for those dummies and that was the biggest waste of my day by a health professional. They have no Aloha! They are rude to locals and Hawaiians and they are not pono! I 100% do not recommend. I have never left a review like this or ever had to complain like this ever! In my 40 years I can honestly say that Big Island Family Medicine is my worst Doctor experience in all of Hawaii! Dr. Gina Salcedo's health care license should be taken away!
Couldn't find a less caring staff if I tried. Mentioned my mother had a stroke, no questions of care interest. Finally saw the Dr and was barely touched for examination and was told to come back a year later. Left for a better care medical staff. Never looked back...
