Building a home started very stressful for me. There are so many options, lingo that I don't understand, permits that I don't know how or where to get, different people to deal with for different parts of a new build. I needed help narrowing down all the options. I wish I remembered the website that I found listing a bunch of contractors but from that website, I started googling these companies. I also asked around through friends and family and neighbors, etc. Robert decoito responded the next day and we chatted for awhile of what I wanted and he made recommendations to write down of who to call and even had some of the telephone numbers memorized!! He suggested certain materials that he would weather well for the area I was building on. Oh, I won't go I to detail but I had some call backs that were not helpful, not suggestive, and could not give me rough estimates like Robert did so that is my reason for this review. I didn't even know they had a Yelp and came across it today so I want to say, I am so pleased with hiring RAD builders. Thank you so much for working with me!!!

Joining this Halau has been a life dream and at 73 never thought I could, but I did and when entering the Halau and saying the prayer my heart went back to my youth and the dream. Kumu is amazing and all the dancers are hard workers and care deeply for their practice. If you are interested in being of Hawaii's culture and learn and work out this is the place to go. I made an appointment with Dr. Ng because he is one of a few Ophthalmologists (M.D.) in Hilo. Wow this is probably one of the most comprehensive eye exams I have had after going to other ophthalmologists in Hilo and California. The staff is all very nice and the office is clean and well appointed. The testing equipment is all state of the art. They also have a large selection of eyeglass frames too .

Heather was AWESOME! I needed a shampoo, blowout, and straightening with a flat iron. I have never had such thorough, gentle, and expert care. My hair feels fabulously smooth and not stiff at all. I went to see Laura Lynn for a curly cut on 3/8 and had the MOST amazing and positive time I have ever experienced from a salon. Her attention to detail, care and tips were incredible. My first visit to Studio 58 in downtown Hilo was great. My stylist was Manny and I had a shampoo, haircut and blow out/curl. I'm a kupuna with very thin hair past my shoulders. He listened carefully to what I wanted. I have been trying to find a good salon in Hilo for a while now since Kathy Romero, who did my hair since 1990, retired. I've been getting my hair done when I travel to Honolulu and that's not as often as my hair needs attention. Now I can trust in Studio 58 as my place and Manny as my stylist. Prices are very reasonable. Check them out!! I believe you will be very happy you did.
They just opened up a few spots, and I jumped on it and got an appointment for my boys with them! The sweetest couple ever ? Side note: When they open up bookings, I highly recommend you jump on it and stay in the loop! They book out for the year very quickly!

What a treat it was to find this salon. We decided to walk around town and I wanted to get a manicure and pedicure and happened upon this shop. The owner had just been back 1 day after a 2 month holiday and was able to squeeze us in as a walk in even though her calendar was booking up quick. She's very detailed and meticulous that I felt very at ease with her. It was a very relaxing experience and she was so kind and funny. One of the top mani pedi experiences I've had in my life. While the shop may not be the fanciest I'm really more interested in the service and highly recommend anyone visiting to visit this salon for nail care.Services: Pedicure

Breaking news! This salon is incredibly clean, organized, polished and smells amazing since the Aveda product line is used. I surprised my mom for her 60th birthday with a fresh haircut. Her stylist, Laura did a thorough consultation and made excellent recommendations. My mom said she felt so relaxed and almost fell asleep while her scalp was being massaged and hair conditioned. Laura was extremely down to earth, sweet and educated my mom on the best techniques to give herself a proper blowout. Laura has been styling hair for over 20 years, primarily on the east coast and now Hilo is lucky to have her style and grace. Overall my mom and family love her new haircut and she's become more confident. Thank you, Laura! My mom will absolutely return for her hair trims.

I’ve been going to The Honey Pot Hilo to see Srita for waxing and facials for many years because she is simply the best. Her facials are so relaxing, and I always leave with my skin glowing. She brings a wide variety of services for people of all skin types to Hilo, and carries top notch products. Some of my favorite facials are her oxygen facials and her microcurrent facials…but I also can’t wait to try a hydrafacial and/or a dermaplane facial in the future! I had the best facial with Iris last week at Mermade Spa. The space is beautifully decorated and the facial left me feeling rejuvenated and fresh. Iris makes you feel like you’re a friend at her home hanging out and talking stories. I was on island for work and I called Tram cold. She fit me in and did my brows and gave me a facial. My brows have never looked better! She shaped, cleaned, and tinted them and they look great and very natural. Plus the facial was awesome! I’ll be back next time I’m in Hilo for sure.

We had a very uniquely, difficult installation. The top 3 companies according to review sites didn't have the necessary camera equipment to locate a mis installed cesspool and introduced huge wait times to charge us a lot of money for something they pay very little for. One of the companies paid a 3rd party company to use his camera and it took weeks for him to get the footage to us.
Eventually, this business stepped in. They have all of the necessary equipment. They did not waste time to get this job started and complete. The way they installed the new septic saved a lot of previous space on our lot and will make access much easier than other less thought out plans.
Other providers wanted a huge mark up that was several times higher than the highest commercial rates. Overall, I consider this outstanding, fast, high quality work.

Ross and his guys did a complete electrical install for our new home build in 2019.After we just moved in, our dryer quit working and I found that there was no power in the outlet. Called Ross and he came the next day to trouble shoot and found it was a faulty fuse in the breaker box. He replaced it and didn’t even charge us. Had Kyle come out to install a whole house fan, can’t recommend him enough. He was professional, showed up on time, and did incredible work. Had him install the fan, 3 vents, and the switch/ timer and it all came out flawless. Can not recommend him enough and will continue to use his services from here on out. This company has given me the best service I have ever had in 22 years on the island. They came out on the same day I had a problem the 1st time I called them and were so reasonable. Unlike many other tradesmen they did not add a trip charge or a consultation fee in addition to the work. I have had them come twice more and they always get here very quickly within a day or 2, and charged the same each time. I highly recommend them. I think because they are so reasonable with genuinely skilled electricians, they had to redo jobs I previously paid another less skilled tech to do) they are getting very popular so may take a little more time to schedule. But quality work with a smile is worth waiting for. Way to go!

Our home was finished March 2020 as the pandemic was affecting Hawaii and causing closing of most stores plus businesses were being forced to shut down also. I write this 1.5 years later to compliment Carlson Homes, Clint Carlson, on the building of our current home in the Golf & Country Club subdivision across from Hawaii Volcano National Park. I have a basic knowledge of the construction business, though not an expert, but I find so much quality built into our home every time I do any maintenance this last year and a half that I continue to be pleased at how well Clint and his crews built our house. Much of the quality was not specified by me but provided by Carlson Homes anyway. The most important part of the whole process from initial contact through design to finished house is that Clint is trustworthy and a man of integrity. His word and deeds match. Most people do not understand the details of how to build a house, but you would not need to fully understand as Clint Carlson knows how to deliver a quality house with excellent finishes. Over the years I have built onto several homes both doing it myself and using contractors, Clint is one of the best and worthy of your trust.

I was initially scheduled for fumigation with another company, but the wait was almost a year out! I called Pacific Termite (Veteran's Termite) and they were able to schedule fumigation earlier. There were a few glitches initially with getting the estimate (person didn't show up when scheduled, but I suspect it was because the person couldn't find my house and the phone number was incorrect....communication with the person at the office who took my call was also lacking). However, Kandy (who followed up with scheduling, etc) was AWESOME and very responsive to emails/calls.
I was very impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of the termite inspection conducted by Bowman Termite. The technician took the time to carefully examine every nook and cranny of my home, looking for signs of termite activity. They were knowledgeable and explained the process clearly, answering all my questions patiently.

A friend recommended Dr Cain for my dog, Wally. Wally got a back injury over a year ago. He’s been hospitalized for pain and on and off pain medication for a year. He also became incontinent of urine after this injury. After one 15 minute treatment we saw a remarkable improvement in Wally’s demeanor, less incontinence, increased walking ability and a generally happier dog. I’m sure his pain is better. We will continue his treatments and I have hopes that Wally will finally fully recover from this injury. I really wish we would have known about Dr Cain when Wally was first injured.

Great experience with a feral kitten. Her spay surgery and FIV test had no complications. She wasn’t even in any pain or anesthesia fog when I picked her up. They were short staffed and backlogged, but everyone was patient and the one staff member was efficient. Highly recommend.
I had an emergency and was accommodated when none else could/would. I found an emaciated 4-7 week kitten near my chicken coop. It was so malnourished that it was unable to walk.

Yoga Centered is the real deal, and the energy there is always excellent! Molly is an amazing teacher, and even though I am new to classes I am easily able to follow her cues without even looking, because she will verbally articulate every movement description smoothly so you know what to do next, as well as remind you where to focus so you do it properly and with best results. I also have been absolutely LOVING the Barre classes! I have been wanting to try one for almost 10 years and finally went. They are low impact, perfect for my whiplash injury and focus on building core/legs/glutes which I feel is super important as I age. The teachers I have encountered there so far are all such great quality and many have decades of experience.
Yoga hour is great for intermediate or advanced yogis. Also, a $6 yoga class can’t be beat. Rachel was the instructor and she was great.

Having gone through a loss, I had been having a lot of trouble sleeping. From the very first visit that night, I had the best sleep I've had in years, and my sleep has improved tremendously. We got the best massage from Zander. He did massage for my husband and myself, one after another. He's so knowledgable about body, muscles and focussed on areas that were problematic. He spent time explaning issues and what he's doing. Overall the experience, ambience and his service was just the best: he's such a compassionate person, full of healing energy. He went out of the way after he found out that it was our last day in Hilo, not just he spent extra time on us, he also shared lot of videos so we can continue the healin at home by practicing good postures and techniques. Highly recommend him, he's just the best?? Aloha & Mahalo Z??

Robbie gives the best adjustments that I have ever had. I've been to dozens of chiropractors over the years, some good, some not good, but Robbie is the BEST. I always felt like typical chiropractors adjusted just enough to make you feel better but not enough to truly realign and fix and heal. Robbie definitely adjusts strong enough to where I do not leave wishing the adjustment was stronger. I'll admit it kind of hurts (in a good way) while getting adjusted sometimes, but that just means he is un-doing something that I did wrong. All other chiropractors want to see you again in a couple days, but not with Robbie. I just go back when I need to because he actually re-aligns me back to where I should be. I hope Robbie stays in business for a very very long time.
I was iffy at first but now I wish I’d gone here sooner! I’ve spent 4 yrs, countless specialists, tests, treatments and frankly I feel worse not better. When I’d explain my problems, I never felt heard before but here, I got to work with Dr Hahn, she’s feisty I love it lol, I truly felt heard as I talked about my problems. I’m liking this idea of paying attention to our physiological processes and how much its unbalances affect us. I’m looking forward to working together and figuring out how to diminish my fibromyalgia/other pains.
