After my Wife did the research, I originally called 5 companies. 2 never called me back. 3 of the 5 actually came on-site. Two of those companies that came on-site flatly refused to do the area between the sidewalk and the curb (an area commonly referred to as The Right of Way.) When asked why, their reasoning was…”Why spend money on something that does not belong to you? The County can come along and mess it up for you at any time.” What an amazingly weird thing for people who are trying to sell SOD and installation services to say! Each time, I responded by saying “If everyone had an attitude like that, no one would ever have a nice-looking yard- we want to have a nice looking yard.” One of these 2 companies never provided any quote at all. Even despite them texting me to apologize for not getting it to me when they said they would. The other company never provided me with a written estimate at all. When they showed up, they gave me some made up story about not knowing how many pieces of SOD their supplier is currently putting on a pallet and needing to check to confirm. Yet, verbally, they then went on try to get me to close me on a price they gave me on the spot. This did not add up at all. Were they lying about not knowing their costs or were they willing to run the risk of quoting a job that would be done at a loss? It is amazing that folks will fill big pickup trucks with fuel and drive around to waste their time and yours like this. I feel sorry for their families.

The Lawn Squad, however, listened to what I said. They provided a written quote, and they even adjusted it for me when I requested more specificity. Gorgeous SOD (Zeon Zoysia) was delivered as promised and the entire project ran just like they said it would… to the letter. Their estimation of the quantity required as extremely accurate. The entire team was courteous, efficient, and worked very hard in blistering heat. They constantly asked questions to make sure we were happy with their work as they progressed. After the SOD was in, they all worked together as a team to completely clean up their equipment and the street in front of our house and did not stop until everything was spotless. It is so refreshing to meet folks who actually take pride in their work and reputation! The dump trailer was removed at dawn the next day just as they said it would be. Save yourself stress.
