250 Henry Meyer Rd, Winterville“A few years ago, my senior pit Layla had a sudden instance of extreme pain, it was not at all clear what the issue was. We went to the emergency vet and my usual vet, neither could find anything wrong and suspected it was a back issue, possibly a slipped disc that wasn't showing up on scans. Even on heavy sedatives, painkillers, and steroids, she was in severe pain and couldn't walk. A friend suggested I try acupuncture, and despite having very little hope of it working, I drove the 45 minutes each way for sessions at Winterville Animal Clinic. The difference was immediate and drastic. She had about six months of regular treatments that allowed her to live a mostly normal life while her back healed.
I am so, so grateful to Dr. Anna and all of the incredibly kind staff there! It has been almost two years since her last treatment and she has been going strong with no relapses at all. I could not believe what a difference acupuncture made in her comfort level. There were several times prior to starting treatment where she would collapse in the yard and be in too much pain for me to move her. I have been in animal rescue a long time and seen many animals in rough shape, but having to wait for the pain to pass so I could lift her and get her inside was one of the worst experiences of my life. I am eternally glad that the acupuncture was able to keep her at ease while time helped her back and she is now able to live a perfectly normal life as if nothing ever happened!“

I took my kitten for its first wellness check with Dr. Thornton and the appointment were reasonably priced and efficient, and they really did care about my little guy. They offered top tier services, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their furry friend as family. Thank you, South Athens Animal Clinic, for being so trusting!“

Not only are they highly professional and knowledgeable, but they are also a caring and compassionate group of people. My Coco has received the finest care since we started going to Firehall seven years ago when she was a new pup. The follow-up by the team is extraordinary and very appreciated. They care about my Coco and me.“

I’m one of those people that gets anxious making appointments, but when I call to bring my sweet girl in, I don’t get scared because the staff is so easy to talk to and communicate with. Everyone is so genuinely kind and seems to love what they do. It is also very reasonably priced! I cannot recommend this place enough. These people know and love what they do - I feel so comfortable bringing my sweet girl here :)“

7530 Macon Hwy, Watkinsville“Dr. Bangle & Dr. Stortz have been my vet (dogs) since 2006. They are both fantastic- knowledgeable, thorough, kind to patients and their humans. My current dog Denali was a rescue who had never been vetted until I took him in so he is very skittish and scared during treatments. The staff here always work to calm him and get us in and out timely. Love my vets?“

2315 Prince Ave, Athens“I was referred to Dr. Stampley by my routine veterinarian for a CCL repair. Her office was punctual and precise in communication from the start. The office was very transparent about all the finances involved in a TPLO surgery, and all 4 visits (pre-op, day of, suture removal, post-op) were exactly in line with the cost estimates. Dr. Stampley took a conservative approach to recovery, and I shared with her that I took that as a sign of respect for her craft and my money.
Dr. Stampley and her staff are outcome oriented for the animal patients while staying focused on delivering excellent service to their human clients. The communication was consistent, clear, and transparent. Dr. Stampley has performed hundreds of this procedure, so I felt comfortable placing care in her competent hands. It was a very professional and courteous experience overall, and while I would not like to repeat it for another pet or my wallet, I will certainly turn to Dr. Stampley and staff should that need arise again.“

7530 Macon Hwy, Watkinsville“Dr. Bangle was a classmate of mine at UGA's Veterinary College. Spending four years learning/working/studying with someone can give one a pretty good impression of who someone 'is'. Dr. Bangle was one of our class's dedicated & hard-working students and that has carried over into his professional practice. I would (& have) trust him with my own pets. He's also simply a very nice person. Honest & thoughful.“

125 Veterinary Lp, Athens“Such kind and caring staff! From the lovely ladies at the front desk to Mary and Katrina who took care of my sweet Ollie! I just moved to Georgia from Texas and had to find a place to keep up with my dog’s severe allergies. I was recommended the school’s vet, and I’m so glad I was! The visit cost was about $70, and the cytopoint injection was $88, (which, at my previous vet, was closer to $150 for the injection alone). For reference, my dog is a white bully breed, about 75-80 pounds. He also got a cytology exam for a small lump forming on his chest, which was $53 (he’s okay!). Total cost visit was $212, which is pretty affordable in my experience. I felt that the staff did a great job of getting my puppies history, addressing all my concerns and answering all my questions. Plus, they were very generous with the treats :) I will note that I did have to wait a little long in the room due to it being a teaching vet clinic, but I felt extra comfortable and put to ease knowing that many professionals got to add their impressions and expertise into the pot. Absolutely recommend, especially if you’re able to spare a little more time at the vet! (Extra pictures of my house hippo provided)“

2200 College Station Rd, Athens“I cannot express my gratefulness for resident Dr. Chong enough! My kitten has had a two huge rodent ulcers on her upper lips for about a year now. I have spent nearly $2000 and seen three different vets to try to get these ulcers healed. Nothing has worked, but every vet kept giving her the same expensive medication that was not working. Dr. Chong was the first doctor who actually seemed to care, especially when taking into account financial constraints. He sat down with me, prescribed my kitten a new medication that was half the price (even showed me how to use GoodRX to use coupons for it), and just a couple weeks later her lips are fully healed! THANK YOU!!!!“
