From Outside the Box Pediatric Therapy Solutions
Dr. Lloyd has worked as a physical therapist since 2011, primarily in a pediatric setting. She has worked in outpatient settings in Tennessee and Georgia, as well as in Dubai, UAE, in a school specifically for children with special needs. Dr. Lloyd has a passion for utilizing unique tools to help children with special needs obtain their maximum potential in life. This out-of-the-box thinking and her avid love for horses guides her approach in physical therapy. Pediatric physical therapy sessions should look and feel like play. The therapist will design games and activities with the intent of achieving goals in strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, and movement patterns.
Next Stop..... Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey! I know I should get used to my mind being blown... but I hope I never do! This way is way more fun! Thank you so much Dr. Shannon & Outside The Box. You are game changing!!
Dr Shannon is great at communicating with us about Emily’s physical therapy goals, progress and milestones. She and her volunteers are so kind and patient with Emily while working on new and challenging skills. These are the most important qualities of OTB, but the setting makes it so unique and engaging. Emily has been developing those new and challenging skills… on horseback. or with chickens. or a pig. Her reaction to being outside a “clinical environment” makes an enormous difference in her participation. We’re so glad to have found Dr Shannon and highly recommend OTB. Emily is, at writing, leading Zantana (the horse) to some hay, looking very confident as she finishes another great session… Huge thanks also to the homeowners and others who have helped create this amazing setting and opportunity!
