M. Shane Smith, MD

Michael Shane Smith, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and is fellowship trained in all aspects of sports medicine. He is a Louisiana native who received his undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University as a student-athlete. Dr. Smith attended medical school at Louisiana State University Health Center, Louisiana’s flagship and most comprehensive academic health sciences center. After graduating, Dr. Smith completed his residency in orthopedics at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he received comprehensive training in general orthopedics. He specialized in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and orthopedic trauma training at Lake Tahoe Orthopedic Institute in Nevada before returning back to Georgia.
