I recently had to have surgery for some hernia repairs. I was dubious about being hospitalized due to the virus situation. I went to the emergency room at Coliseum MC and was admitted that night and the surgery done a day later. There is no way anyone can say that being hospitalised and having surgery was an enjoyable experience. At least not in my opinion. But the doctors and staff at Coliseum medical centre made this at the very least a very comfortable stay and I felt very safe as far as the virus was concerned. I was on the 5th floor. My daughter has been there for the last several hours. I'm three states away. She's getting AWFUL treatment/service. Made her pay $350 "co-pay" upfront to be seen. Not busy, being left in a room and ignored.

As a nurse, I very seldom speak highly of ANY of the local hospitals and avoid the ER at all cost. That being said, I would like to applaud the ER staff at Coliseum Northside hospital for the AMAZING service and care they provided me with on 4/20/15. The 7p-7a shift nurses were attentive and very accommodating. Specifically, RN Jennifer and RN Amy. Even Joy, at the front desk check- in was kind, compassionate and sympathetic. I was in obvious pain and they all recognized it and with in a hour of arriving I was feeling better and much calmer. Dr. Phan listened to what I was saying and acknowledged my fear and treated it with respect. Kudos to all but especially to Amy... read full review
