He was very clear in explaining the massage technique beforehand and gave me the history of Esalen massage (how and when it started) which was extremely interesting. I have heard about Esalen over the years and have always dreamed of going to the Esalen Institute Spa in Big Sur, California but have never had the opportunity so I felt so fortunate to find an Esalen trained practioner here in Atlanta! The techniques is different from other massage techniques as the strokes are long and fluid. There are gentle rocking techniques added that aid the body to relax and let itself unfold naturally, rather than being manipulated and forced to relax.
