Miguel Huerta is a complete scam! My husband found him on Facebook Marketplace and he claimed he could do tile. Took forever to complete a job, and when it was time for him to come back, after he got paid, he said his back cracked in the tub and then ghosted us! We got a lawyer on his case right now because the l**** left his business card in our door so we have his information. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WUTH MIGHEL HUERTAS! No morals or ethic!
I have three words to describe Miguel Huerta: inept, incompetent and immoral.I have never experienced so much incompetence in one person. A job that was supposed to take two weeks took nearly six. A bathroom that was supposed to take five days took three weeks (all simultaneous so we were in chaos the whole time). When and if Miguel decided to show up, he would often come at around noon and leave at 2 pm.One prime example – he complained that a light towel bar couldn’t go on the wall because there was no stud for it. I have three words to describe Miguel Huerta: inept, incompetent and immoral. I have never experienced so much incompetence in one person. A job that was supposed to take two weeks took nearly six. A bathroom that was supposed to take five days took three weeks (all simultaneous so we were in chaos the whole time). When and if Miguel decided to show up, he would often come at around noon and leave at 2 pm. One prime example - he complained that a light towel bar couldn't go on the wall because there was no stud for it. I suggested using anchors. Then I saw him him watching videos of how to install an anchor. Of course, it wasn't even centered or installed securely, and I had to have it moved. The first tile installer he used for our bathroom were clearly "new" - they didn't even have a wet saw. The second installer was fine but had to basically redo everything. Of course, that meant yet more delays. He said his area of expertise was painting. Painting what, I don't know. We had the entire outside redone (and his subs did a good job on the shingles - I wonder if he paid them) and he said he was a "perfectionist" about the paint and would do it all himself. Perfectly awful, I would say. He didn't do the bare minimum of any scraping of any existing paint on the remaining soffits - he just painted over them. What's worse, even though he agreed to strip and refinish our solid wood, original 1930s door, he decided to just once again slap a coat of paint on it. Add in the mayhem he and his crew brought on my house - breaking our entire Ring system, cracking stones on our new retaining wall and breaking wires on our landscape lighting - and we had to spend thousands of dollars to hire actual professionals to fix it. The door was the final straw - we told him he was done and he blocked our driveway until we gave him a check - which we did for a partial payment and then stopped payment on it. As for immoral - beware. He threatened us that he "had access to all our WiFi codes" and constantly insulted me and my husband. I'm fairly confident that the two sub-contractors who did a good job weren't paid. Speaking of paid, he insisted all checks be made out to him directly - not his business - for less than $10,000 - something I'm sure the Internal Revenue Service would like to know. I really should have known better as he "started" work on another house of mine and it "seemed" to go ok - but of course he didn't actually finish anything and, after having had to call yet more professionals to finish the job, I have since discovered how much he did wrong (like miswiring all electrical outlets). I could go on and on about the shoddy work, terrible attitude and sheer incompetence but I think there's probably a character limit. Please do NOT hire this grifter, you'll regret it.
