“Dr. Scott and his assistant Brittany were both a pleasure to work with. They were pleasant and answered all of my many questions as a new customer. They also made my dog feel comfortable during the examination and were kind to her. This is the kind of service I was looking for in a new vet having recently moved to Gainesville.This is an update (1.17.23) on my previous review. My last two encounters at Gainesville Veterinary Hospital have been with Dr. Brothers and her assistant Amelia. Both of them are a joy to work with. They obviously have a love of dogs as demonstrated by their interaction with my dog. It is comforting to go to a vet's office where you have every reason to believe the people there love your dog almost as much as you do. I am especially pleased with the reception and care Bailey and I have received there. I would whole-heartedly recommend anyone searching for a veterinary clinic to strongly consider going to Gainesville Veterinary Hospital.2/22/24 update. My dog got away one evening (my fault because I left the garage door open before putting her harness and lead on). She was gone for about 3 hours before coming back. She had evidently gotten into something that scratched her nose and below her eye. I cleaned her up as best I could and put some Neosporene on her that night. In the morning I looked at her eye and was afraid she might have scratched it also. I called GVH and spoke with Kaitlin who went out of her way to get Bailey seen by Dr. Brothers that day. Long story short, Bailey’s eye wasn’t scratched and Dr. Brothers gave me an oral antibiotic by mouth and cream to treat her eye and scratches. Kudos to Kaitlin, Dr. Brothers and GVH for taking care of my four-legged best friend!!“

“What an amazing team of pros. I have been going here for many years and have been a long time happy client. This weekend I had my son's large, very strong dog. He had an allergic reaction with me and I was worried about getting him in for treatment. He is a sweetheart but untrained and pulls on the leash and lunges and barks at other dogs. He is just too strong for me to handle. I went in and asked if they would help me get him in and the team was just so helpful. They took care of everything. Mya came out to the car to help get him in. Dr Fabiola was waiting at the door. It was true concierge level service and I was totally at ease. Max is fine after treatment and I am so grateful for all the help and support. These people are kind to both animals and nervous parents. Technical skill is respected, people skills are the heart of a practice. This team has the heart!“

“Dr. Peter W. Kowalewski (Dr. Pete) is great with my dogs. It's a bit far from where I live (FB) but his staff is very responsive and timely. I don't ever feel pressure to seek treatments that are not beneficial for my pup. Dr. Pete calls me himself and gives me the time to discuss what is going on with my dog and what treatments may help. He's pretty chill and down to earth. I genuinely feel he and his staff love animals and are not just collecting a paycheck.“

“I had to bring in my elderly cat due to her having blood in her urine and constantly in and out of the litter box. It was after hours and I couldn’t take her to my regular vet. I debated on taking her or waiting until our regular vet opened in the morning. Given her age I decided to bring her in. The receptionist was very kind and took our information and had me drive over. It wasn’t a quick trip because they had an emergency surgery, but that’s the nature of an after hours vet and I didn’t mind waiting to be seen. I hope I won’t have another after hours emergency but if I do I would definitely go back.“
