“I am writing to explain my personal experience with Dr. Rikhter and this clinic. I have been a patient if his for close to twenty years and consider him to be one if the finest personal physicians I have ever had. He consistently shows obvious concern for me as an individual, takes the time to be sure I understand each aspect of diagnosis and treatment, always explains choices clearly, asks lots of questions and LISTENS to the answers, and never shows irritation at being questioned or challenged in the event that I might have another idea about my own treatment. Specifically, some years back I was tested with very high cholesterol levels (which remain high today). He prescribed Lipitor after explaining possible adverse effects. After two weeks of using it I threw it away as it was making me feel tired, sore and old. A friend who had gone into the hospital for a heart attack mentioned an arterial/heart scan that his doctors had suggested should be given to all suspect patients (including those with high cholesterol). When I queried Dr. Rikhter about this, rather than resisting, he corroborated that this would be worth investigating. Long story short, the test corroborated that while cholesterol levels in my blood are high I have virtually zero blockage. He went on to suggest a further "stress" test, just to be sure, and after clearing that he suggested that he could see no compelling reason for me to go on statins (Lipitor or otherwise), even though stAtistics suggest otherwise. I have his blessing to continue without medication, just repeating the routine tests every five years. I could cite any number of other specific experiences with his professional staff, nurses, et al, and not a single negative experience on almost twenty years. I will agree that the front office has at times seemed aggressive with regard to billing, and not always as organized as I wish it were. On the other hand I have always been informed of lab results and had follow up calls, mostly by my doctor in person, on an extremely timely basis. Again, the information has been clear, patiently delivered, and I am always given the chance to ask questions or state any concerns. Once I praised Dr. Rikhter to one of his PA's who was leaving his practice. Her parting words were that even though she had once worked for Johns Hopkins in Baltimore (one of the nations most widely recognized teaching hospitals) she felt so strongly about Dr. Rikhter that she would be flying back from New Hampshire (or Vermont) every year to see him for her annual physical. I corroborate this kind of enthusiasm.“

“I just want to say how thankful me & my family are for Dogwood & the exceptional service they provide from the front desk staff to the internal medicine doctor, Dr. Nasr, who has been the absolute best for our Yorkie Cracker. We took Cracker to numerous vets for their opinion on what’s going with Cracker. None of them had an accurate diagnosis & all the vets seemed to do was assume our dog had stomach cancer and advised we put him down. After doing hours of research of my dog’s symptoms, I found out it was common for yorkies to develop a type of GI decease along with other diseases such a PLE. When Dr. Nasr suspected Cracker may have this disease, I knew right there & then that she knew what she was doing. She also has compassion for animals which is VERY rare to find in the vet industry these days. We had to leave Cracker for overnight bc his protein levels were extremely low, & my mom was extremely emotional & scared to leave our dog overnight as we had a recent dog of ours pass away. Dr. Nasr came back in the room & sat next to my mom to assure her that Cracker will be ok. She also explained everything to us in detail from what her plan is to get cracker better. She didn’t rush through the appointment & she actually listened to any questions/concerns we had. I am so thankful God led our family to such a compassionate vet. The front desk staff is awesome & as soon we walk in, they have our room ready for us and always greet our dog Cracker. And yes, Cracker is doing well to this day as those other vets we went to tried to tell us to put him down right away. No compassion, eager to get us out the door & take our hard earned money. And whoever said to take your dog to Bluepearl in Sandy Springs, DO NOT. That is the same dog hospital who took away our last dog and misdiagnosed him! Please look into bringing your fur family to Dogwood!!! Thank you Dogwood for everything you’ve done for our Precious Cracker. God bless you guys!!!!“

“I really feel for the staff, people come in sick, complain because other sick people are being seen as quickly as they can, health insurance billing is a nightmare to begin with, but in my experience, they have been kind, caring, accommodating and Dr. Rikhter is one of our favorite doctors with a great bedside manner.We switched insurance and are dealing with not being able to choose our PCP, but we will be continuing with Perimeter Clinic as self-pay if they can't get us sorted...can't do anything more than put my money where my mouth is.“

“My family has been patients here for over 10 years. I do personally favor the Sandy Springs location over the Decatur location but have no complaints about Decatur. Only bad experience was a man who was new at Decatur I believe he might have been a nurse and he was checking me in at front desk. Was by far the ugliest encounter I have ever had at a doctor's office. Immediately he was handled and I never saw him again at either location. Pretty sure he was let go. I have extremely rare condition which causes rare subset conditions that most doctors pass off on me as "difficult". The Doctors here and their P.A.'s have always gone the mile for me and it has made a difference in my overall quality of life and care. One of my adult children is also now seen here for my same rare condition. If you have been treated badly for ongoing issues and conditions that won't happen at PCC in Sandy Springs.“
