It took 9 months to get my son an appointment set. They called me back and had to reschedule. I had a confirmed text message with my new appointment. When I got to the office, Brianna Bridges informed me that my appointment was canceled. This receptionist was reading my body language before I could even express my concerns. She was already trying to come up with a situation. I was so worried about not being able to get in. I know she could see the panic and frustration that was within me. BRIANNA is the main reason for this review. This woman was amazing in every way and handled me like a boss between communication ,sincerity ,problem solver, and efficiency. She nailed it. And let me just note that this was all handed in about 15 mins. Her 15 mins of interaction made a difference in how I was viewing this establishment. The back of the house was just as amazing. They really took precautions on trying to figure out my child issues. It was a bumping start, but honestly, it was worth the 9-month wait to feel like my child is in good hands. And after 2 years of fighting this battle. I feel like im not alone, and I have hope and help figuring out the issue. Thank you to all the staff who made my experience life changing.
We have been going to this urgent care for years. We have never had any issues. I usually go right when they open to avoid being there too long because it definitely can get packed at times. They used to let you schedule a time online but since Covid you just have to wing it. Everyone has always been friendly and service has always been top notch. I have 2 children and like I said we have been at this location several times. The only issue we have ever had was my daughter needed antibiotics for strep throat and I was told that I may have an issue with stock of the antibiotic. When I went to CVS I was told there was none within 20 mins from my location. I called to the urgent care and asked them to change the prescription to a different antibiotic and the doctor refused and they suggested I find a different pharmacy. I explained I did not plan on spending my Saturday searching for medication. And if I told you she was allergic you would have no choice to change the prescription, they still refused. The next day I called 2 walgreens before finding it. Went to pick it up only to be told they do not accept my insurance. Was told to go to the Walmart which was across the street and luckily it was in stock and they took my insurance. Again this was one doctor and 1 incident. And we have been here several times so I will keep my 5 star rating. Last time I was at a regular emergency room THAT took forever. Ill take CHOA anyday!
Even though we spent a long time at CHOA Urgent Care (deduct 1 star) I must say they have a smooth process implemented here. You sign in at the keypad and the front desk receptionist takes your ID and provides you with a call number. Your name is placed on the monitor with your estimated wait time. It pays to have an appointment but an emergency is an emergency. You then wait in the waiting area and they call you to the billing desk to verify insurance and client information. Once verified you wait until triage, if they have a room available your placed in the room, if not back to the waiting area. Once your called it's just like any visit, prescriptions sent to the pharmacy of your choice and your sent home with your at home care directives.
