I called for a same day appointment for my granddaughter. They were able to accommodate me, gave me a phone call when they were within 30 minutes of finishing her hair and did an excellent job. I recommend them highly. Great customer service!

This place has gone downhill. They used to have amazing, consistent and meticulous braiders, but not any longer. My braids were not uniform nor very neat like I'm used to. I asked for mid back, but what I hot were a few mid back, some shoulder length, some a little past my shoulders. I had 2 braiders. They did not have the same braiding style. The braider at the front made huge knots and the method of braiding was very loose; whereas, the braidedr at the back braided more neatly and consistently. I gave them a 2 instead of a 1 because they did finish my hair within 3 hours. I went here for smedium knotless braids, but ended up getting medium individuals instead of smedium...read full review

I went to Fatou because my sister has had good experiences here and when I saw her hair, it did look good. I called for an appointment and was advised there was availability. The parking is a bit tricky bc the driveways on either side of the building are quite narrow. Anyway, I parked and walked in and was promptly and pleasantly greeted. They got started maybe 10 min later and everything seemed fine. At some point, I realized the 2 women braiding my hair were using different methods. Because I am a braider myself, I know what to expect. I went in for knotless braids and what I was getting in the front was not that. I asked the woman why she was doing it that way (starting with braiding hair instead of with my own hair) bc the whole purpose of knotless is to give the appearance that the braids are natural and coming from your head. She had done so many at that time that I told her to just continue bc I didn't have time for her to take them out and redo them. Knotless braids are the trend now and for her NOT to do them properly, stating what she was doing would last longer, is unacceptable. I didn't ask for a long lasting style. I asked (and paid for) knotless braids which I did not receive. They also did not properly tie the ends and I've spent this morning going through and pulling out the knots that formed once they dipped my hair in hot water. I won't get into the acrobatics they wanted me to perform so they could sit while braiding my hair bc I finally said enough and that they needed to provide a chair that wasn't broken. Needless to say, but I'm saying it anyway, I WILL NOT be going back nor will I recommend this salon to anyone. They were nice and remained on task the whole time (took 4 hours) so I've given them 2 stars. I'm now in a "what I asked for vs what I got" situation and very disappointed.
