Many stylist are quick to say they "specialize in natural hair" but don't know the first thing about caring for natural hair. Melinda was very knowledgable of hair in general and took the time to access my hair and its needs. I've been natural for a little over 3 yrs and this was the 1st time I've had my hair straighten in 3 yrs because the last stylist caused severe heat damage and was someone that supposedly specialized in natural hair. Melinda listen to my wants and was able to find a good balance between giving me what I wanted and providing what I needed. I had a lot of growth but because I've neglected trimming over 3 yrs had a lot of split ends as well. She was able to cut my hair to address my split ends without me losing all my length which was important to me since I mainly wear my hair curly and have major shrinkage. I was also impressed at the ease she detangled my hair and automatically knew and understood that my strands did not require high high heat to get silky smooth. She used a lower heat setting and my hair is bone straight without the heat damage... I really enjoyed my first experience back to a salon in over 3 yrs... And will be coming back quarterly for trims... Thank you Melinda!!!
