When our regular vet unexpectedly canceled our euthanasia appointment at the last minute, we were devastated and scrambling. Our dog was in a lot of pain, and this office was able to fit us in right away even though we had never been there before.
From the moment we arrived, the entire staff was attentive, compassionate, and incredibly emotionally in tune with what we were going through. Three weeks ago I brought in a stray cat I had been feeding after noticing wounds on his left hindlimb and the fact that he was limping. During the visit, the veterinarian hardly looked at or spoke directly to me and for a good portion of the visit the tech went back and forth between us. I had expressed concern of a potential fracture because I didn’t know exactly how he was injured and they assured me they didn’t believe it was.

I called them because my regular couldnt see my dog for an emergency situation soon enough. she needed an operation. I called around town, and 2nd Ave. A.H. was able to schedule the emergency, riskier than usual, spade, for my 7 year old dog who had a life threatening infection same day, within 4 hours! AND was cheaper than anyone else I'd called. I couldnt believe they beat my regular vet (weekend vet) by over $1000. Makes me feel like the other place was taking advantage of the situation. But not 2nd ave. My little bit is alive and doing well today because of the experience, friendly and caring staff at 2nd ave animal hospital. I can't thank them enough!
