I highly recommend Shades of Green for landscape design with native plants, rain garden installation, and their Ecolawns caretaking service. Kate designed a beautiful rain garden, foundation plantings, and kids play area using a range of Georgia native plants. She was a true partner in the design process! Our rain garden effectively contains nearly all the runoff from our roof even when it rains several inches on one day. When an existing tree they transplanted during the installation didn't survive, Shades of Green replaced it at no charge. Great experience from the design to install and follow up. Communication was good and the team was very patient with all of my questions. I feel like they are invested in my learning process (I took the class online - highly recommend) and listened well to what I wanted to accomplish. They were up front about areas that were out of the scope of work they provide as our property has some super steep areas. I have been working with Shades of Green Permaculture since 2016 and would highly recommend their services. We had them do a site assessment, install plants and reconfigure the front yard along with installing a large water tank that reclaims water from our downspouts and pumps it to planting areas of the yard. Since the installation I have used them for garden maintenance throughout the years and was able to go out and garden with them and ask all the questions I needed to understand how to care for the plantings and also learn what other plants/weeds were popping up in our yard.
