Once Mayor “Pop” Lewis Newman is responsible for the desicration of the entire Rollersville Cemetery. Newman had all of the headstones removed and a large monument placed in the middle of the cemetery with Newman’s name set in the largest lettering. Clearly, this man was an egomaniacal maniac who had no respect for the dead when it came to ensuring his legacy. Note that Newman’s family gave him a private funeral when he died....probably because he was such a controversial, shady figure. He should have died in prison for what he did to the Rollersville Cemetery.
