Bottom line: do not try to book an appointment if you are not already an established customer. His online appointment system has a problem; it will "accept" appointments from new clients, even though he is not accepting new clients. I tried to book an appointment using his online appointment system. I did not notice a warning posted on the website stating that he is not accepting new clients. Oops, my mistake (yes, I admit that I often skip the fine print on such websites). Here's how it worked out. When I booked the appointment, I got an email saying my appointment had been "accepted." Then, a short while later, I mysteriously got a cancellation notice. Later I noticed a friendly text from Chapin saying that my appointment had been cancelled because he is not accepting new clients. He was nice enough to suggest other shops, but I ended up going to one he did not suggest that is closer to my house, Toco Classic Barbers, where I got a great haircut from Gina. For people like me who do not always read the fine print, the whole thing could be made easier by adding a screening question to the appointment-making process: "Are you a returning client?" If you answer "no" to this question, then you would be blocked from booking an appointment and given an explanation. Just a suggestion. So, despite my best efforts, I never got a haircut at Atlas. I left 5 stars because it all worked out OK, with just a small amount of hassle that could have been prevented by me reading the fine print or by adding a screening question to the appointment system.
