I can't remember the last time I went to a salon and received,m basic cuticle care, lotion, and massage. My nail beds have never looked better and my polish is the most even it's been in a long time. The staff are friendly and offer complementary drinks. It's a small place but clean and well kept. I will definitely be visiting again.

I when yesterday on 8/16. I was very worried because I have been to a lot of stylists in Athens and a few going to Atlanta. A lot of them complained about my hair thickness and showed dislike about it. So I was very worried about it when I first come to the shop. The lady of this shop is very polite and kind. And she did a quiet a lot of work to my hair. But she didn’t make me feel unwelcome at all. The work is very professional. And my hair it turned out very pretty after she got done. Should have reviewed Joanna a long time ago. I have been going to her for a couple years now(but, have only needed a haircut a handful of times). I recommend Joanna to anyone who has hair, especially those like me with curly hair. Having super thick, very course curly hair, I needed someone who knows what she's doing, which is how I found Joanna. She doesn't do what other stylist do usually, and that is to start brushing my hair out(which feels and looks terrible). Instead, she looks at my hair and makes a gameplan that fits exactly what my hair needed. As soon as I made the first appointment, I told my mom and sister about her, and they feel the same way. She goes above and beyond for every client; she is kind and personal and absolutely fantastic. She talks to you as if you're picking up the last conversation(which is incredible, being that I hadnt had a haircut from her since last Fall). I came in today with my mess of a hair(thick, curly hair and hadn't brushed it out, so I knew how much work was needed) and she made sure everything she was doing was what I wanted. I wanted it straight after the cut because I am about to travel, and she accommodated me 100%. Made my hair the softest it has ever been. Also, I recommend everyone have the deep conditioning treatment. Will continue to recommend Joanna to everyone, and will continue to go to her as long as I can!

Joy was such a great help in cutting my boyfriend’s hair!! We came in with a very vague description of what he wanted and she cut it EXACTLY how he wanted. She was also very gentle with him and took great care to make sure he was comfortable.

Best barbershop in the area, hands-down! I've wore a flat-top for over 30 years. When I moved to Geogia back in 2020, I searched and searched for someone (anyone) who could cut a real, good flat-top. I found him in Matt! Matt has been my barber now for 4 years and I don't plan on changing anytime soon!
Everyone in the shop is super friendly and all of them do a great job (I've had a few others help me out when Matt was out of town). Give them and try and you won't be disappointed!

Bombshell Creations were so incredible to work with. I got married May 11, 2024 in Athens at the botanical gardens, and I didn't book hair and makeup until literally a week or two out from my wedding date. They were able to squeeze me in for a trial the week before the wedding. I wanted what I would call "Hollywood soft glam," and my artist Miyana did such an incredible job interpreting my inspiration photos AND dealing with the Georgia heat and humidity. I wore my trial hair & makeup to an *outdoor* corporate networking event and it stayed perfectly through hours of sweating; same thing with my wedding makeup! Miyana was incredibly sweet & professional, I cannot say enough wonderful things about Miyana or Bombshell. They're affordable, professional, and talented. Highly recommend.

The booking process was so easy, everyone I came in contact was really cool and super sweet. My specific artist Autumn was amazing. After a short conversation she was able to pull off exactly what I wanted and you can’t even see the terrible tattoo I had before. I’m heading back in to see her soon and I can’t wait! Great experience working with After Hours Plumbing. Jacob and Ed are very good technicians. Both explained what the problem was and how they would address it. Jacob went the extra mile to trace and determine another leak I had in the house. Zach made sure i was satisfied with the work afterwards. I will definitely call them again if I have plumbing problems.
Came in and replaced an old pump and ran lines to get clear water to our donkeys in a very timely and efficient many.
we noticed our sump pump was on and saw that our sewer was backing up into the basement drain. we rang up Tommy & Sons Plumbing due to the great job they did previously when they installed our water heater. they under-promised but over-delivered. a young guy, let's call him devin, got here in no time and got straight to work. he did his best until his mates, ryan and brent, showed up to assist. devin kept us updated on how things were going. they had everything sorted by the afternoon. before leaving, they gave us some supplies to help deal with the pesky roots that were causing the back-up.

This company is AMAZING! Had an issue with my refrigerator not cooling or freezing. Called Mr. King and he was out the next day. Diagnosed bad control board and estimated a 3-5 day wait for board to arrive. It arrived the next day and Mr. King came the same day to install. You couldn't ask for better service at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.
New fridge and oven purchase and install in Feb 2022, but picture is 10 months later, still waiting for return of cabinet doors and wood panel under oven! Great job on the initial install but that satisfaction is diminished by the 10 month delay to complete the job!!
My daughters live in Athens and they were locked out due to a defective deadbolt on their back apartment door. They then tried to use their front door and their key broke off because it, too, had a defect. (What are the chances, right??) Jeremy came out super fast, changed the lock, got the broken key out and fixed the second lock, and had them on their way. He also helped us with getting what we needed for reimbursement from the apartment complex. Can't recommend him highly enough! He's awesome!

Great experience - my wife and I used LL flooring to install hard floors and carpets in our new house. They were very helpful in choosing a floor, giving us lots of good options. I highly recommend working with Chelsea - she helped us from beginning to end, and made sure everything was installed correctly and on the correct days. If you're looking for a good place to get new floors - choose them.
We enclosed our garage, did a small addition and built a detached garage. These guys are amazing. The management was efficient and timely, the team of workers were very skilled and professional. Admin is excellent. If you have a project, give them a call, you won’t regret it. We couldn’t be more pleased.

I couldn't be happier. I heard some sounds of critters scurrying through my attic soffits a few times, or so I assumed. I called three companies. The first guy went up on my roof and found a loose screen at the bottom of the gutter at an inside corner. He said squirrels were getting in there. He said he could put a one way trap there for two weeks, then fix the screen. After tapping on his phone for a while, he said it would cost $679. He immediately said he could go lower. I've never had an estimator say that. Just give me the lower price. The second guy sounded goofy on the phone and didn't show up when promised. And, then there was Zach. He was on time after sending a text letting me know he was on his way. As soon as we started talking, I felt comfortable with him. He was personable and obviously smart. He asked me if I might have heard the sound in the gutters rather than the soffits in the attic. Maybe so, I said. After clear explanations of how animals can get into the attic by chewing around a gap that exists between the attic and gutters, he went into the attic. He looked for any signs of animals and inspected my gutters. He found some signs of mice and maybe rat snakes, but nothing else. He said the gutter gaps were wrapped in metal so chewing was unlikely. His recommendation was for him to do nothing. I could ask my pest control company to deal with the mice as most have that on their contracts. Mine does. My wife and I don't care about any rat snakes that might be up there. They are our friends. Zach and I had a very pleasant conversation about life and he left. I learned that Zach has been in Athens for a good while and is married to an Athens native. It's good to work with someone with an established family who has a long term stake in the community. I could not have a stronger recommendation.

Heavy and persistent rains in 2020 had turned a longstanding drainage problem in our back and side yards from a nuisance in to a serious problem. We had completed two previous projects with other landscapers to fix the problem that did not work. Carl at Greenbriar designed and executed a dry creek bed drainage system that is aesthetically appealing and works exactly as intended. I was impressed enough with the work to have Greenbriar out right away for another, smaller drainage project. They exceeded my expectations on the second job as well. The combination of quality and value offered by Greenbriar exceeds any other landscaping service I've used in my 20 years in Athens.

Our earlier drainage projects with Greenbriar have allowed us to make recreational use of parts of our back yard that we never could have before. We recently completed a project to design and build an outdoor fireplace that would serve as the centerpiece of an outdoor seating area. We wanted our design to compare with the large, rustic stone fireplaces built in the 1930s by the WPA in parks all over the country.
Carl worked with us and his master mason to build a spectacular homage to this style but with traditional Rumford fireplace principles at it's heart. It produces a tremendous amount of radiant heat; bright, leaping flames; and absolutely all the smoke, soot, and gases go right up the chimney. The materials and craftsmanship of all components are top-notch and I'm sure this fireplace will still be standing when the rest of the home is long gone. It's best described as a functional piece of art! I remain very impressed with the high quality and value of the projects I've completed with Carl at Greenbriar and will definitely use him again.
UPDATE 2022: I’ve had greenscapes aerate and top dress my lawn twice now. You can’t beat their price and quality of service and materials. They use a 90/10 PGA certified sand/peat mix to top dress. It’s screened so there no twigs or pebbles in it and it’s weed free. I’ve had zero issues with weeds after both services. They’re fast too. Other companies will charge you more and use inferior material. Just do yourself a favor and use these guys. They’re the best.2020: They did a great job topdressing and aerating my lawn.

Dr Morang started treating my 13 yr old daughter's teeth recently. I am so grateful for him and Robin who both administered outstanding care to remove her braces and repair her teeth to prevent further damage from an unattentive uncaring Orthodontist (in Memphis TN). i don’t even know where to begin, as someone with dental anxiety, this was the best experience i have ever had at a dentist. I felt so cared for, and bless the sweet lady that let me squeeze her hand because i know i was squeezing hard and she was just so sweet the whole time. I left with no pain & i still have no pain even though im pretty sure all the numbing medicine is gone by now. He explained everything he was doing & just made me feel so comfortable, constantly reassuring me i was doing good. If you need a good dentist, STOP HERE YOU FOUND HIM.

Dr. Giles is absolutely wonderful. He's compassionate and listens to me and encourages me. He is a wonderful chiropractor who seems to really care for his patients. He has helped me every step of the way through this agonizing process and I am so grateful to be seeing him. He seems to genuinely want me feeling better.
I began seeing Athens Chiropractic Healthcare and Dr. Groft after a pretty severe car accident. He has been so instrumental in my return to full mobility and health. As a competitive athlete, my spine and core are the basis for all my functional movement. I am nearly back to my pre-accident regimen and I owe a lot of my recovery and progression to Dr. Groft and his team. I now see them regularly to maintain my mobility and increase my flexibility.
I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this practice. The staff are beyond happy and helpful. Everyone is polite and form a connection with each patient. Dr. Huppert and Dr. Vickers are wonderful. Both know what they are doing and my experience was perfect. The treatments are relaxing, helpful, and I feel as if I'm at the spa. I was referred to Dr. Stampley by my routine veterinarian for a CCL repair. Her office was punctual and precise in communication from the start. The office was very transparent about all the finances involved in a TPLO surgery, and all 4 visits (pre-op, day of, suture removal, post-op) were exactly in line with the cost estimates. Dr. Stampley took a conservative approach to recovery, and I shared with her that I took that as a sign of respect for her craft and my money.
Dr. Stampley and her staff are outcome oriented for the animal patients while staying focused on delivering excellent service to their human clients. The communication was consistent, clear, and transparent. Dr. Stampley has performed hundreds of this procedure, so I felt comfortable placing care in her competent hands. It was a very professional and courteous experience overall, and while I would not like to repeat it for another pet or my wallet, I will certainly turn to Dr. Stampley and staff should that need arise again.
Quality service & knowledgability. Prices aren't always very affordable, but it's worth finding an alternative for what you can get elsewhere. They offer a lot of special medications, panels, & personalized service that I've yet to find elsewhere.

Such kind and caring staff! From the lovely ladies at the front desk to Mary and Katrina who took care of my sweet Ollie! I just moved to Georgia from Texas and had to find a place to keep up with my dog’s severe allergies. I was recommended the school’s vet, and I’m so glad I was! The visit cost was about $70, and the cytopoint injection was $88, (which, at my previous vet, was closer to $150 for the injection alone). For reference, my dog is a white bully breed, about 75-80 pounds. He also got a cytology exam for a small lump forming on his chest, which was $53 (he’s okay!). Total cost visit was $212, which is pretty affordable in my experience. I felt that the staff did a great job of getting my puppies history, addressing all my concerns and answering all my questions. Plus, they were very generous with the treats :) I will note that I did have to wait a little long in the room due to it being a teaching vet clinic, but I felt extra comfortable and put to ease knowing that many professionals got to add their impressions and expertise into the pot. Absolutely recommend, especially if you’re able to spare a little more time at the vet! (Extra pictures of my house hippo provided)

Gaines Shoal is state-of-the-art in every way. Kind and caring staff and doctors that genuinely value their customers. We had to put our eldest down several months ago and they were incredibly kind and empathic to our hard decision. Our new puppy is getting all the care and attention he needs from them as well!
The entire staff here are incredibly patient and kind. Our cat kinda freaked out on the vet and he was incredibly calm. Explained to us the issues our cat had in an easy to understand way. The people at the front desk were also knowledgeable and professional.

Their prices make regular massage therapy a bit more accessible to me, yet nothing is sacrificed in the experience. In fact, I find them to be more professional and reliable and better at their craft than competitors. I have been seeing Jennifer regularly for over two years now, which is a record for me! She is calm and warm, very skilled in deep tissue massage, and very intuitive.

I relocated to this area about 1 year ago. I was missing my massage therapist from my previous location, but was so happy to find Tranquility Massage and Wellness on the East side of Athens and Elise. Last week was my 5th visit with Elise. She is now my "go to" therapist. Elise does not just go thru the motion of giving a massage, she truly cares to help resolve the issue. She did just that again last week. I walked in with a lot of issues and she addressed every one of them. The key is to communicate. I felt better right after i left, but the next day was amazing. The trapezius and neck pain was completely gone, my hamstrings and low back pain was so much better. I also like the ambience of the facility. So glad I found Elise and looking forward to my next massage. Thank you Elise!!
Corey’s deep tissue massage is exactly what I have needed for a long time. I have degenerative discs and had a neck fusion 22 years ago. My shoulders and upper back have been tense for so long. With all of the massage therapists I’ve tried over the years, none of them can work the tension out like Corey can. It’s an intense but good experience that lasts weeks or months instead of hours. Soon I will have lumbar surgery but the hip massage I got from Corey months ago is still helping the pain and tension. Not for the faint of heart but the most bang for your buck. Highly recommended if you can take it!
