My 90 year old mom was released from the hospital and was supposed to go to a skilled nursing facility but at the last minute they had a Covid outbreak and she couldn't go there. We had no choice but to bring her to my house, but she needed 24 hour care. Someone at the hospital suggested calling Assisting Hands and I am glad I did. They had someone at the house within four hours and we were so happy with the care she received from Assisting Hands that we were able to keep her with us for five months. Last year, my husband and I researched home health companies to prepare for the years when we might need to have home health care.The first telephone call yielded a conversation with one of the owners who was very knowledgeable of the health care business and represented the financial department of Assisting Hands. I was invited to ask all questions I had, and a registration meeting was set; Amanda Johnson, RN met with us and completed an interview to learn about our needs, and we set an appointment for a home health caretaker to visit us for 4 hours. The Assisting Hands people were all so very kind, courteous and helpful. Every time I contacted Audra she would immediately get back to me and give me any updated reports which she was constantly on top of. All the caregivers that were assigned to take care of my dad did an amazing job. They were very easy to talk with, very concerned, dedicated and caring, you can’t ask more than that! My sincere thanks goes out to Assisting Hands, Audra, and all the caregivers that were part of this program to help my father, which they really did… Without them his Quality of life in his last months would not have been nearly as satisfying.
