Medicare recipients beware! Expect deceptive business practices here. If you go in for a Medicare FREE Wellness checkup, they will always find something to charge you for; they're not content to just receive payment from Medicare. They will sometimes ask you a seemingly routine question, and when you respond, they will charge you a large extra fee for "consultation." If you discuss ANYTHING during the visit, even the results from the blood tests they REQUIRE you to get before for the wellness visit, you will be charged extra for "consultation." I deal with the Dade City office, love my DR but when going out of town I needed a prescription filled that they just prescribed. Let them know I had until 6 the next day to get it filled. They dropped the ball never got called in. This was on a Friday so no chance of getting any help with it until Monday. The did call it in but the CVS didn't have the pain meds I needed. Called them before noon to send to a new pharmacy it's late Tuesday morning and still no script called in. Leaving tomorrow so basically I've spent my whole vacation in pain. Not happy with the service, if I didn't like my DR so well I'd be finding a new DR to go to.

Front office staff was hanging up on an insurance company from the moment I was about to check in for an appt. I immediately thought this would be a place where relying on efficient communication between insurance providers and healthcare providers could potentially be a nightmare. That's just the cherry on top to todays appt, but worth noting as being my very first impression. Saw Dr. Heather Leto today. First impression was she was very rude to the intern or medical professional assisting with transcription. Huffing over his shoulder and seemed just difficult to work under.
