We just completed our renovation/remodel of our home in St. Pete Beach and I felt a need to share our experience working with Strobel Design Build. Simply “WOW”! Remarkable, smooth, seamless, quality, high customer service standards, are other words that come to mind. This was the final phase in a 3 phase project. We were adding a third bedroom and bath by extending the garage out. The first 2 phases we had hired another contractor and experienced with a sub-par experience. (putting it mildly) Besides the fact those first 2 phases took over 3 years to complete! Needless to say, we were a bit apprehensive about finding another contractor and diving into more construction. We interviewed 5 companies and as soon as we met Mark and his team with Strobel, we new we had hit the jackpot! They were not the least expensive, but in most cases, you get what you pay for! We certainly did! I was also able to meet all the subs as they came to our home to bid on the project, that was a plus… meeting the people that would be doing the work in our home. First step was the Scope of work and project, Rob, the estimator was a class act as well. Rob walked me through every line item and made sure I understood everything. Rob was also very upfront and honest and didn’t “low ball” my allowances to make the final price look good only to end up with $15,000 in change orders. The next amazing staff members we met were Stefanie and Mike D. They helped us design the master bath. What a great, fun and at times overwhelming experience. They took us to 2 stores to make our selections. There we picked out floor tile, shower tile, vanity, sinks, plumbing and electrical fixtures. They gave us great professional advice and shared their opinions. Stefanie was able to draw up a computer-generated diagram as we could see what the outcome would look like. Another great plus! When SDB was about to begin, we all had a Zoom meeting where I could meet all the players and they could meet us. My next two introductions were to Mike Z, the project manager and Jimmy Lynch, the superintendent. These two were true professionals that knew their trades. Honest, upfront, and trustworthy. Jimmy would be and was my main contact throughout the 4-month project and oversaw the day-to-day operations. The construction schedule was entered on “Builder Trend”, as well as all of our invoices, pictures, selections, etc. Jimmy updated the schedule on BT almost on a daily basis as things do change while you are juggling 10-12 subcontractors. I can’t say enough positive things about Jimmy. He always kept me informed, answered all my questions, never making me feel like I didn’t know what I was talking about, which most of the time I didn’t! Jimmy walked me through each step, would review what was happening the next day and next week. Not everything is perfect in this world, and if something had to be changed, we discussed the options, made decisions and moved on! Andy, or “Handy Andy” as he is affectionally referred to as, is a jack of all trades. He did the finishing carpentry work as well as anything else Jimmy needed him to handle. Andy is so very talented, a fulltime, Strobel employee. He also was spectacular! All of the subs did an amazing job, if they didn’t, SDB would not have hired them. All were respectful of my home, did quality work and cleaned up when finished. The office and accounting staff are also very polite and courteous there as well, always returning my calls and answering my questions. Thank you Myah, Prophecy and Sylvia. I am actually having withdrawals not having crews at my front door at 7:30 each morning! I would not hesitate recommending Strobel Design Build to anyone looking for remodel, renovation or a new build. No job is too small or too large. It was truly a wonderful experience and not only did SDB do great work, but they were able to erase the 3 years previous nightmare we had with our prior contractor!
