“Hurricane Milton on October 10, 2024 brought down half of my massive Water Oak in Deland onto my 8' x 10' shed, turning it into a twisted platter of metal with everything inside shattered. I was lucky enough to have Above The Rest drive by just after the storm. The cutting up of the fallen half and also the removal of the very tall dangerous remaining half both were done within four days after Milton. The crew was very professional. They have allowed me now to focus on cleaning up all the other damage left by the hurricane.“

“Milton decided to take our beautiful Palm tree and lay it on our house leaving us with a dangerous situation! Being new to the area we searched online for a local tree expert with lots of experience. We came across Daytona Tree Service and called immediately. Alex the owner answered the phone and told me he would be over that day. He should up and gave me a great price and said he would take care of it the very next day. The next day he showed up with a crane and a crew and went straight to work. He was safe as to not cause more damage to the house by carefully getting the tree off the house. The crane did the trick too.

All I have to say is I was very impressed with his abilities, and the removal was safe!
Alex came back the next day to grind the stump, cleaned up, after all was completed and our yard looks like it never even happened.

She immediately went to work identifying the strong and weak points on a couple of large trees we wanted to save, as well as on all the trees surrounding the property. “We called two other companies shortly after Hurricane Helene and didn't hear back within a few days. Then we called SB Tree Service and spoke with a representative immediately. The next morning Christopher (one of the owners) called me. I said we wanted the work done ASAP and he came out that day to give us an estimate. A crew from SB was out within a week to remove seven large trees. They removed all of the debris and ground the stumps. The crew was friendly and efficient. We highly recommend using SB Tree Service.“

He was upfront about not being able to come out right away for a quote and ended up showing up the 1st thing in the morning with a quote and was able to do the work the same day. I had a dead 32 year old Raintree that had To be removed he gave me a fair price. It was a 2 man crew and they were awesome. “The Cutting Edge Tree Experts arborist and entire tree removal/trimming crew are extremely professional, courteous, and caring in the execution of their job. The area supervisor identified signs of rotting present on my Laurel Oak and recommended actions that I could take - allowing me to make an informed decision about the tree. I ultimately decided to have the tree removed (which is a great thing because it was severely rotted inside the trunk). The crew came in the next day and removed the huge Laurel Oak (4' 7" diameter trunk) from my side yard, trimmed back five live oaks in my front yard, and hauled off all the debris in one day. The arborist was able to drop the huge laurel exactly where he wanted to (without damaging a full grown Robilini Palm that was within 6 feet of the oak).
The reason for four stars instead of five is because the follow-on communication from this company is basically non-existent. When I signed the contract - I was originally told that the stump grinder would be out within 3-5 days after the tree was removed. The stump grinder came out in 3 business days after the Laurel was removed, but I was told that he would call the day before he came out so that I could be present if I so desired. He did not call. He did do a great job grinding the stump, but a call would have been nice. I also had some minor damage (two broken sprinklers and my mail box was dislodged) both no big deal - but it took several weeks before the repair (QA) person came out, and even then - no advanced call or status update calls from the company to let me know the status of the repairs. The QA (repair person) did a good job when he came out - so all is well that ends well.
I would definitely use Cutting Edge Tree Experts again, but now I will be aware of the lack of communication from the start.“
