My experience with this place is up and down. First off my 80 yr old MIL was sent to the ER via ambulance a few times between April and June. There were all kinds of issues. She's 80, it happens. But I feel the Dr's and nurses here don't communicate well. They are all very kind, especially the nurses in the ER. And I get the under staffing. Not surprised with this. But the communication between the Dr's, nurse's to patients and family members are WAY OFF. Either we get a "DR will be here soon" (and a no show or extremely late show up from a hours to a day later) or "Let me ck on that" from a nurse and nobody comes back. I know that there's more than one patient in the hospital and everyone gets busy. But even if they just stuck their head in the door and said, "hey, I haven't forgotten you." I'm still working on getting an answer for you!" If there is more than one DR working on you, bring a notebook to keep them all straight. If one doc is taking over for another or just covering for a few hours, how about let us know this! I honestly could go on with what I felt was lacking at this hospital but I don't want to write a book. But I do want to say that the nurses, (especially) were amazing in the actual care for my MIL. Both in the ER and once she was admitted. They spoke to her with much care and respect. As her family members we appreciated that. Communication all around there needs to step up. There aren't a lot of ER & hospital choices in this area but that doesn't mean that we deserve less in communication between doctor's, nurse's, patient's and family members.
Wasted so much of my time. Told me I didn't fast for blood work, fine. That's on me, came back the following morning and told be I'd have to pay a bill (or a portion of it that's was over 800) if I wanted to get my blood work done. I ended up leaving going to a Quest instead. The ladies working were really nice though. The hospital just sucks.
I can't thank Advent Health and all of the CNA's Sharisha, Nurses, Crystal, Lisa, Sophia and the other nurses, the doctors and specialists were also very kind and caring. I'm actually taking the NCLEX on May 3rd and it's made me want to apply for a job there because the hospital was so clean and everyone was so professional and caring, even the woman who takes your specific diet orders and brings you your food and the staff that cleans the rooms were just top notch! Thank you Advent for taking care of me!
