Jiu Jitsu is a physical sport, one that isn't for everyone and tends to make my wife want to look away. It's also a sport that builds character, instills discipline and gives your child confidence - not only to defend themselves if a situation were ever to arise but also for all things in life. If your child can get on a mat in front of hundreds to thousands of people and look their opponent in the eye, a person that wants to submit them into giving up, and give it everything they have - just imagine what the future will hold for them. When looking for an academy for my son my Jiu Jitsu instructor told me Vieira Martial Arts Academy was the place to go. My middle son started class in September 2019 and I have seen tremendous growth in him. My eldest started training January 2021. As a father it has been an amazing experience to watch my boys learn, grow and become more confident in life. Soon I will be enrolling my daughter there. Professor Vieira is an experienced practitioner in Jiu Jitsu and more importantly a good person. A man who cares about you, about your child and about the sport. Professor Vieira is approachable, will answer as many questions as you or your child might have, stay late after class to show you how to properly execute a move or how to escape from a position. Professor Vieira will help your child succeed in which ever path they wish to proceed down, becoming a world champion, being able to defend one's self or obtaining a black belt. We have been blessed to be able to obtain private lessons from Professor Vieira. I can't tell you how great an experience this has been for me to learn as a parent and to watch my kids really grasp Jiu Jitsu concepts. Professor Vieira surrounds himself with good people, John is there more often than not and provides a lot of great instruction to the kids - really helping them learn and grow. Like Professor Vieira, John is a good person. Vieira Martial Arts Academy is NOT a pay to play program - your child will advance when they have the correct skill set to do so, not on some predetermined schedule. This is readily apparent when going to tournaments and watching your child completely crush others at the same belt level (or higher). I would be remiss not to note the other parents, all approachable and super friendly. All in all this has just been a great experience. I am extremely happy at Vieira Martial Arts Academy and my kids love it. I can't thank Professor Vieira enough. I look forward to what the future holds!

My son loves attending Viera! Professor has taught my son many skills in such a short amount of time. Beyond fighting, my son is learning valuable life lessons while building strength & confidence. He looks up to Professor, Coach John and many students at Vieira. As a parent, I love that Professor is easy to speak to and always available to answer any questions, even when I have way too many! We are comfortable with the staff and students at Vieira, my son feels like family! We couldn’t be happier!
