I’ve been a student of Capoeira Volta Ao Mundo and Mestre Rony for 19 years. I can’t even begin to explain the knowledge, the discipline, and the family I have gained from being a part of this community. This isn’t just a business, this is a safe space, a cultural space and a lifestyle that has laid the foundation on which I stand as an adult. I’m eternally grateful to the Costa family for bring the beautiful martial ART of Capoeira to the Sarasota community for decades. I can not imagine myself without capoeira, it is a permeant part of me and it’s there because of CapoVAM.

Wonderful environment where you feel like you have found a new family. A place to unwind and have fun all while you practice and develop this fantastic artistic style of martial arts in the company of some amazing people. Love this place!

This academy has changed my life forever, I am awestruck with the dedication, fun, community vibes and honorable martial arts and cultural lineage of the teachers and classes here. It’s like paying for a gym membership and getting high vibe friends, music, body movement and health, as well as deeper learning through arts of mind-body-soul connection. I always leave class feeling better than before, no matter what mood or energy level I arrived in!
