I seldom write a terrible review. When I have a bad experience I try to take the long view and assume they were just having a bad day. But this place has really engendered my ire. I have a rescue kitty with issues. I feel so badly for her. I've had her 2 1/2 years and I still can't pick her up. She is coming around but it is slow. She has long fur and needs to be groomed but it's not going to be easy and a regular groomer won't do it because she has to be sedated. I know, I have called many of them. I have taken my cats to Haines Road for 15 years so I called them for help. Which they did not give. She just kept repeating "We are not a groomer". She insisted I call a groomer even though she could not name one that would help, that they would take care of it and of course they won't. So my poor kitty is sitting here with all these matts which I understand are painful. I will look for a new vet. So if you have a pet with problems or one that needs assistance. this is not the place to go. I am very disappointed in them. I wish I remembered the name of the customer service rep who I spoke with. I would like to immortalize her but I don't.
Big shout out to Haines Road Animal Hospital Dr Bode and Vet Tech Christine were very compassionate and professional today when I had to make the difficult decision to put my kitty to rest. It means so much to deal with such wonderful people as they were when you’re faced with making such a hard decision about your fur baby. And I received these beautiful flowers from the doctors and the staff when I returned home.
Today I had a bit of a melt down with my pup. She vomited first thing in the morning then we noticed she had face swelling. Having never seen this before in our dog we freaked out. Our normal vet was unable to see her so in a panic we rushed to Haines Road Vet. Even though they were busy and had never seen Izzy before they made time to see her instead of just sending us away to blue pearl. Every person that I interacted with was incredibly kind and treated me with respect. I wish I had got everyone's names but the few I remember are Sara who met us at the car, Lisa who did the initial check up and Dr Julie. Even eavesdropping on the front desk I could hear the compassion they show towards all their patients. I feel they are well worth the cost for the treatment and level of service we received. I'm wish my own medical care could be as good.
