I called early with an urgent request to examine our new Maltese and cat for FLEAS! The gracious lady who answered the phone and squeezed us in that day turned out to be Dr Nelson herself! We have always taken our pets to local Schools of Veterinary Medicine, but U of Florida is FAR away! So after reading studying Yelp carefully I picked Dr Nelson-- a single Practioner practice, small / personal. A graduate of Ohio University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr Nelson is thorough, HIGHLY informative with depth, knowledge and years of experience. We took the opportunity ( very relaxed examination with her) to ask many many questions on a myriad of topics-- diet/ pros-cons of diff flea treatments/ raw pet food pros-cons, etc etc etc. I was very impressed. It is important to note that when driving up to her office, that you should not judge this book by its cover. Having established this location's practice in 1974, she has grown comfortable with her surroundings like most physicians. It is not modern elegant nor " swanky". It is simply Dr Nelson's comfortable practice. Her $39 examination basic fee is rare especially for the quality of her training and experience. Her prices for heart guard, flea treatments are excellent and lower than Costco, et. al. We shall DEFINITELY be back!
