Compassionate and knowledgeable. Quite a few times during the exam he had to make me uncomfortable in order to make a thorough exam, but he always explained along the way what he was doing. He listens to concerns well and does an excellent job in explaining.

Before finding Dr. Kraut I had 2 retinal detachments in my right eye. My first surgery was done at the Eye Institute of West Florida (Largo). The surgeon reattached my retina and used a gas to hold it in place, but 3 weeks later it detached a second time. The same surgeon reattached it again and continued using the gas although he had mentioned other doctors might use the serial buckle surgery with oil to hold the retina in place. Three weeks later in GA my retina detached for a 3rd time. I saw a surgeon in GA and he recommended the serial buckle surgery with oil. I couldn't stay in GA and found Dr Kraut in Oconee / Orlando. Robert J. Kraut, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in medical and surgical treatments of diseases of the Retina and Vitreous.
