In the 13 years I’ve owned dogs, no one has taken care of them like Dr. Vance has. Not only is her office affordable, which takes off the worry of “can I afford this?” when my dogs get sick (I have only had blue noses, which are typically unhealthy little creatures), but she genuinely takes the time to address your concerns and deeply cares for her patients. There have been quite a few times I’ve freaked out over nothing because I’m an anxiety queen where she could’ve taken me for a ride and charged me when it wasn’t necessary, and she never has. I have been using Shady Road Vet Clinic since I moved to Ocala over 3 years ago. I come from the Melbourne, FL area and before that Palm Beach, FL area. I did not realize how much my other vets were taking advantage of me until I came to Shady Road Vet Clinic and noticed the difference in my vet bills. Dr. Vance was the only one who gave me an honest answer that was in the best interest of my dog. Every other vet tried to persuade me to do an expensive surgery that would have caused more discomfort for my dog and thousands of dollars out of pocket. The staff is amazing and so is Dr. Vance. She takes such great care of our cats and her passion shows. She was able to fit me in when my cat had a bad eye infection and got him on meds right away. She always explains everything well and is just a sweet, knowledgeable person. Will never go to another vet.
