While in Florida one of 3 horses ingested too much sand, we had A vet Dr Malone come out to examine her and he found her to have way to much sand in her system and has us take her to Smith Peterson equine hospital! When we arrived at about 11:00 pm the staff went to work immediately to assess and begin treating her, with in 1 hour they had her assessed and took the time to tell us everything they had found and were doing for her. It took 3 days to get her back in better shape and could be returned to us. This is by far the best and my absolute favorite veterinary practice around. When we first moved here, we tried multiple vets, and the biggest challenge was finding someone who would actually show up—especially when urgent situations came up. We have many animals, so reliability is essential.
Peterson Smith, and especially Dr. Luis Cadena, is truly the best. Dr. Cadena always takes the time to educate us, genuinely cares, and consistently goes above and beyond for our animals. As first-time horse owners, we truly could not have done this without him or the incredible team at Peterson Smith. We are beyond grateful for their dedication and care.
Extremely pleased with this hospital. Professional and kind. After using another equine hospital where I had nothing but issues, this was a breath of fresh air. They care for the horses above all. They will be my go to going forward. When I came to pick up my boy one of the employees was hanging out with him brushing and talking to him, so sweet.
