“We love Home Instead!! Our mother was getting to the age where she needed more help with normal things around the house. She uses a walker and had had several falls. Her last fall led us to Home Instead, recommended to us by a friend. My first connection was with Gabriel DeArmas who assured us he could have someone who could help us. We were apprehensive because my mother didn't like anyone outside the family to come in and help her. Our first nurse (Yenni) was sent from God, and she immediately connected with mom. Yenni and mom would talk about how they grew up in the same pueblo in Cuba. Mom looked forward to her visits daily, although we had her come 5 days a week for 4 hours daily, every other week. She was a great cook and was wonderful at keeping mom engaged in conversation, or taking her for walks. Then mom had another fall which put her back into the hospital for a couple of months. When she came home, we had our second nurse from Home Instead, Hilda, whom was also just as wonderful. I am grateful for these wonderful people that have helped mom through these difficult times, and continue to do so today. Mom has become more fragile and knowing someone from Home Instead is looking after our precious mom, we worry less about how our mom is cared for. I would highly recommend using Home Instead to anyone considering getting help for an aging loved one.“
