I was called to change my December appointment to October due to Dr Hernandez leaving. I was told to come at 745 am Oct 12 for bloodwork. I arrive 735 with sign on door open at 8. I call and am told my appointment is 1235pm, however, the other Mount Dora office is open. I wait at 19A office and am told my appointment is actually 935am. Now I have been told 3 different times. The receptionist said no problem we will get you in asap.Poor service on scheduling appointment
The doctors in this healthcare system are not great but at least okay. What sucks is the system itself. Whenever you want to make an appointment or ask a question you call a # that is like a phone bank for all the doctors in the system. More than anything that phone bank operation IS THE PROBLEM. They screw up constantly. Tell you the wrong address for the doctor, don't return calls, tell you you are set for your appointment only to find out you're not etc. Also one of the Doctors once blocked me from getting my normal yearly blood tests which he had approved and I needed. When I got to Quest they said "no, the doctor has blocked you from getting them." I said "WHAT?! I just talked to their office to confirm this appointment a couple days ago!" I called the office and they said "We don't know what happened but the doctor has said no and he's not here today so we can't do anything about it". Having driven all the way there I was super angry about it.Long story short after having gotten ready and driven the 15 miles into the appt just for this. I had to yell at the people at the dr. office by phone from Quest, but they still said no. Then just as I was leaving they somehow managed to fix it and called me back. But look what they put me through, having to fight with them on the phone for 10 minutes to get my blood test which had already been approved and ordered. That kind of thing shouldn't happen. Some of the doctors offices also would fail to call in my prescriptions so when I went to Walgreens to pick it up they said "No one has called us with the prescription". Luckily I had the paper with me but again, just malfeasance.Another time, I had to see a doctor quickly for a health crisis and I said "Is there an outpatient clinic I can go to near me today?" They said "yes but not near you, and sent me about 15 miles away. When I got there I saw a sign on the wall stating that there indeed was a clinic NEAR ME after all. I asked "Is this other clinic still in operation today?" They said "Yes"! So one of the operators I spoke with at the phone bank failed me again! My final complaint is that after I left this horrible system I went back there to get copies of my medical records because I had already asked them to send them over to my doctor a week before and they said they were doing it that day, but they never did!So I stopped by the office to get them myself, in person, with ID and all, and they said "No, if you want them yourself you have to pay $1 a page x 25 pages = $25. I said "What?! They're MY records!" They insisted. I said "No, that's ridiculous! They're MINE!"Later I called the Lakeview Healthcare System # to see what was up with that and they confirmed it. I said, "But they're MY records! And anyway it doesn't cost a $1 a page to make copies when they have a copier right there in their office!" (I even offered to just take phone pictures of them or copy them myself, but no-oooo!) So all in all this is THE WORST experience I've ever had with ANY health care system in my life and I'm retired now. Save yourself a lot of pains in the you know where, and DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS SYSTEM!
Been going there for years and every trip get worst, long waits even with early appointments, very rude receptionist who is bossy and has no caring for patients. Then Dr Hernandez left and things went down hill, my last visit they did incorrect coding on routine office visit that normally cost me $5 and it resulted in a $70 bill that they say is my problem cause my insurance did not cover the items coded incorrectly. Just a mess, I am done with these people. Even the new Doctor is a mess, just wants to prescribe more pills that are not required and then he even screws up the prescription for them.
