I started going to Ty a while back when I was living in Mount Dora. I tried several barbers in the area before I found him and he’s the only person that actually does a truly great job. I was hesitant at first because his prices are a bit higher than some other barbers in Mount Dora, but I’ve realized that’s because he’s the only person that will actually cut your hair well and more importantly, will actually cut it the way you ask him to. I’ve since moved down to Winter Park and I still make the 45-50 minute trip up to Mount Dora every time I need a cut. It’s well worth the trip every time. Great barbers are hard to find and Ty is definitely one of them.
I was very happy that the woman there was able to work me in. She brought me in and actually somebody canceled while I was there with her. She's very friendly that a fair job. Zero complaints. There is very limited parking and unless you know this you can park across the street at one of the restaurants, but you can't park at the disgusting nasty little tea place that's adjoining their building. I was very surprised at the price, I think it was $30 for basically a military style trim cut no scissors involved. I did enjoy the conversation and that's part of the experience. Unfortunately I'm a Price chopper and I just really needed a haircut and that was the only place...read full review
I support local #1! Parking is very small with 2 spots, and one on street parking facing the right direction. Barber said Jerimiah's will not complain for a couple customers, but the nasty tea shop (nasty painted green building on corner) will. (sorry folks, dirty outside means dirty inside). I enjoyed the barber who accepted my walk-in, b/c she had a cancellation. It is a small, home town barber location. Conversation was great. My only hold up and reason for 4 star is a $30 men's buzz cut, plus tip. So I would be on board if less. I just relocated from Ft. Liberty, NC where I received $18 cut with razor shave around all ears and neck, with mini-massage and hot towels. I was a little unprepared at the price, as nothing is on the wall stating price list. She said they normally accept online appointments. I found them here on Yelp, which made no mention on appointments, which seams to be a call which is a phone on the wall. They survive on locals. I would say to support local, its great. I HATE great clips, so I may make this somewhere I visit! Local soup or tea is sometimes worth the price! Thank your.
