At first, they were the only company to respond to my text asking for a quote to grind down a rotting tree stump left in our front yard. I was very grateful to hear it would only be $100. I emphasized that I want to make sure to get any remainder beneath the surface, too, and I was assured their machine would go 10-12 inches deeper and get it all. At first, they were the only company to respond to my text asking for a quote to grind down a rotting tree stump left in our front yard. I was very grateful to hear it would only be $100. I emphasized that I want to make sure to get any remainder beneath the surface, too, and I was assured their machine would go 10-12 inches deeper and get it all. After they finished the job, there was mulch left all over the driveway because their leaf blower was out of gas and the mulch pile was larger than expected, which defeated the purpose for me to even remove the stump because my goal was to avoid termites. I unfortunately didn't understand that the mulch wouldn't be removed unless I paid an extra $200 (later quoted $150 via text). I decided not to do that at the time because that was more than expected and I figured I could clean it up myself. That proved to take much more time and effort than I thought it would, so the next month I reached out again to check on the price for removal, which they were responsive about, but when I asked what their availability was, I was ghosted. No call back either. Much later on, I finally outsourced to Thumbtack and LH Junk Hauling came out the very next day to clean up the mulch and haul it away for $100. I was very upset to discover that C&H didn't in fact grind below the surface at all. There were still tree roots and a slight bump above the ground. No hole was filled because the bare minimum was done and covered with mulch before I noticed. This company helped me get rid of a tree stump that needed to go, but they also made this process much more difficult than anticipated and disappointed my partner and I in every other way.

I thought the stump removal was good. However, when I raked the area I found several large parts of the stumps just below the surface. I had to have someone dig out some of that stump parts that should have been removed. I am disappointed.
