Went to see dr. demartino for an annual wellness visit that is covered by my provider. I told him I didn’t want to take the visit down any paths that could be coded as anything but that. We spoke freely and he gave me a prescription for the two medications I’ve been prescribed annually for almost 10 years. First annoyance was he wrote me a 6 mo script for something I’ve always been prescribed with refills good for a year. (Forces a billable return visit, so I have enough medication to get to my next covered annual visit). 4 months after the visit I received a bill that included, in addition to the wellness visit (covered) he tacked on an equally expensive office...read full review

I want to Island Doctors in Cape Coral where they tried to get me to sign a paper I refused to take medications they wanted to put me on when in fact they demanded I take a test that is very painful to me and I just had it done a few days before by Life Line. They refused to except this and I refused the test I also refused to sign the paper because it was false. They had me bring in my medications than when I needed a new script put me on name brands instead of the genetics I was taking. When I called to straighten it out they told me the generic medicine was not medicine for thyroid and wanted me to come in the next day to be seen so they would prescribe it. I had just been there a week ago and refused I have a co pay each visit, so they said since I had another appointment on the end of the month they would prescribe a 30 day supply but the dose was much higher and would have messed me up which would require lots of blood work and follow ups to stabilize my thyroid so lots more office visits would be required, so I refused telling them my dose is much lower. To which they told me they offered to see me the next day. You should not have to see a Dr repeatedly for your medicine unless there are changes. As long as they know what your on and your stable they should continue with it. The main headquarters of this company does not even bother to call you back when you contact them to file a complaint. All they want is for you to come in almost monthly even if you are well insist on all kinds of testing in the Office you don't need since most things are in the bloodwork which they wanted quarterly. Seems like all there after is how to get money. I quit going there.

We were traveling by boat when I needed medical attention. I took a gamble and called Dr. Ciro K. Demartino, MD (Island Doctor), and I could not have asked for a better experience. From my first call, I knew I was in the right hands. His staff was polite, professional and able to get me in right away. The office was immaculate and 100% Covid compliant. Dr. Demartino took time to explain my situation and his recommended treatment. He sent a prescription to the pharmacy and provided me a coupon to defray costs. If I lived nearby, Dr. Demartino would be my primary care physician
