My 90 year old father with Parkinson's disease is a longtime client here and normally he is very pleased. This review is not about their services during normal times, or even about their services at all, but is about the steps they are taking to keep people safe during the pandemic. My father told me something that is horrifying. We were very hopeful that all would go well. His barber arranged for him to come in before opening to minimize his potential exposure to COVID which we very much appreciated. He was there before my father arrived and was sanitizing before my father went in. This is a small salon which makes it a potentially dangerous place to be. Any droplets containing SARS-CoV-2 expelled by anyone in the space will not dissipate and puts everyone in there at heightened risk. Droplets containing the virus can travel much father than the six feet which the CDC advises is required for physical distancing. My father's barber was wearing a mask, but while he was in the chair, two other staff members entered the salon WITHOUT MASKS thereby putting my 90 year old father with Parkinson's disease at potentially grave risk. And wearing masks and disinfecting equipment and surfaces are just the minimum needed. My salon here in MA has large plexiglass partitions between each station, hand sanitizer at the door which everyone must use immediately upon entering, they change smocks between each client as well as completely disinfect everything in their stations including the plexiglass between clients, and they ozone the salon overnight. The only people in there are three stylists and three clients in stations that are minimum six feet apart. Unfortunately, my father does not have any other options for getting a haircut. I hope this salon will ramp up their COVID protocols to keep their clients as well as staff safe.
