“Bay Area, look no further….this is the only place you need to know about when it comes to Men’s (and boys) haircuts & shaves. Located in one of the coolest neighborhoods of DTSP and just one street off central, this is the shop you’ve been looking for. Top Notch has been here for years under the same ownership and familiar cast of master barbers that make up the team. The owner, Kevin, has been cutting my hair for at least 7 years now after a recommendation from a friend, and is the only person in town I’d let do it (although I’m confident, in an emergency I’d be more than pleased with what one of the other guys could do too- DJ, Derrick, & Bobby are all excellent at their craft and will see to it that your expectations will be met & exceeded.
Not only is Top Notch in a great part of town, in an easy to find location, it also gives you that traditional barbershop feel that is inviting and as good of a place for conversation as it is for cuts & shaves ??
The cherry on top for me is the old fashioned shaves they all do SO well….using great quality shave butter, then wrapping your neck and face in a fresh, hot, citrus towel before getting perfectly shaved with a traditional straight razor- it is so relaxing and honestly the only way to have a shave done. There’s a reason this traditional method has reigned supreme for literally hundreds of years!
I recommend making an appointment using their easy to navigate website that allows you to designate the services and barber you prefer, and then will give you the earliest available appointments available. While you may get lucky trying a walk-in, these guys are in-demand. And while this is the case, you’ll never find yourself waiting past your appointment time for your cut, or feel like you’re being rushed out the door. Your appointment time is yours- just another reason why this is the best shop in the Bay! That’s a promise ???
