I was in town cruising through the area on our boat and needed my roots touched up. I called Kay to see if she could fit me in. She graciously moved her schedule around to accommodate me. This woman knows her stuff. Great touch up and at a great price. She is a one person show! She is also friendly and very personable. We talked about her getting a web site so people could go online to check out her services. Thanks for helping a girl out Kay!

Kay has been doing my hair since I was a young teen when she worked at Cecil Vignutti's and I followed her to Berkman Plaza after Cecil's. She now owns a quiet salon where she can cater to only her own clients in a calm setting. She creates beautiful blonde hair and never leaves it looking brassy or yellow. This is something blondes search for in a hair stylist. I went to "the red side" and she also created a gorgeous light auburn with caramel hi lights. Changing from platinum to auburn is a challenge and she created a stunning color that does not fade! Finding someone that colors beautifully like Kay while keeping the hair in good condition is a true talent! She is also a very sweet person! Thank you Kay!

Kay Adkison - hair stylist extraordinaire - is the owner of this little teeny tiny Avondale hair (only) salon. I met Kay when I was was 14 years old, nearly ____ years ago (I'll never tell but the number has been in the double digits for years). I was babysitting for a family in Avondale and the mother was a client of Kay's. One day, as a tip, she gave me a gift certificate to Cecil Vignutti Studio for Hair, where Kay was a stylist. I went to see her and I never stopped. Like many of her clients, I followed Kay from Cecil's to Daryl Powers at the Berkman Plaza. She was there for a couple of years but did not like the atmosphere - so she started looking for a new place to go. Finally, she decided it was time to hang a shingle and work for herself. To this day, it was the best thing she could have done. Today, I live in NYC. For years I have tried to find a stylist as good as Kay and for years, I have been unsuccessful. The best haircuts of my life came from her chair and every time I visit Florida, I stop in for a cut and color and then we go out for dinner and catch up on life. Kay is humble, kind, unpretentious, and cares a great deal for her clients. Her prices are fair and the quality of her work is remarkable. This little salon, located in a small strip mall, has two chairs and one shampoo bowl. There are no politics, no people pushing products, no loud conversations or obnoxious music. Kay spends an hour perfecting your cut and even more time perfecting your color. She is excellent. If you are looking for a really great hair stylist, Kay is one of the top! S~
