I believe the saying goes "love lasts forever but a tattoo last forever plus 60 days" ;) So I made sure these people knew what they were doing before letting them touch me with the gun. Got an awesome tattoo on my forearm that was an intricate piece of realism done by the Harris son. Grade A work and they treat you great. I won't go anywhere else in Jax for the rest of my work.
Harris Ink Tattoo has a story. Like the fisherman, blacksmith, stone mason, shingle miller, the ink master trade has been passed down the bloodlines of this family (along with a natural ability to charm just about anyone). With three generations in one house (grandfather Joe, Son & owner Scott, grandson Marshall) some families fuss about being forced to live together. However the Harris's have made it work. They have also hand picked a few additions to the tight clan along the way. The artists here are mad talented, stylistically they run the gamut of tattoo design. Van Fowler is a kick-ass artist. With 18 years of inking under his belt his favorite styles are Japanese and Skull/Dark Art, but he did a brilliant job on my Hindu Lord Ganesh tattoo (as pictured). It's a special and comical atmosphere. The people here are a bunch of jokers, and for the time that you are with them you're a part of that world. It takes your mind off the pain from the needle and the time just whizzes by. If you're new to this don't be afraid to ask the artists for portfolios. Scott, Marshall, Van, et. al are more than happy to share. Van was really receptive to my opinions and incorporated my ideas flawlessly. I'm also including a link to Van and Scott's work so you can peruse on your own time. I'm sure once the UNF girls get wind of this, business will be booming. Thanks again, Van. Will be back.
