Alford & Sons engineered and built a multi-level retaining wall for our property on Pensacola Bay. As a result of a hurricane, our property had sustained slope failure and was eroding into the bay. The usable property was 50 feet above the sea level and we had to reclaim buildable square footage for the planned house footprint. This required three levels of graduated wall construction. Since the soil was mostly sand, it was very unstable and each level required filter cloth on the wall and tie-backs to insure proper support of the wall. I have used this company and recommended them without reservation for many years. They were the first to call me after the most recent hurricane to see how I was doing after the storm, and to see if I needed any help. Not just trolling for business, but out of genuine concern for my welfare. I have no doubt they would have come in a minute had I needed them. They did my needed, but not emergency repairs, as I knew they had other customers in greater need, in a timely manner. My dock and lift was the only one to survive even partially intact along my stretch of bay, and my lift, with a 10,000 pound boat trapped in it did not move an inch. Jerry and his crew built us an amazing, life-long seawall in 2010, and I reviewed back then, but wanted to give another shout out to them! While they were next door recently, building a walkway and pergola to the river, we needed one new plank for the seawall they built us due to a new fence built that butted up to it, and they went thru their scraps and found the correct piece!!! Not only did they find it, but they also cut it, removed our old one, and replaced it with the new one. And one more thing.... they did not charge us! THANKS for having integrity and always producing great quality work!
