I love this gym! It might look small but it’s got everything you need and the equipment is comparable to the large franchises around town. I never feel like I have to compete for equipment. All the employees and staff are really nice and super helpful with getting me signed up. I liked it so much I convinced my dad to sign up for a membership too! They also are taking precautions with the pandemic going on so I’m less worried about going to a public place.
I've been a member for a couple of years, and can attest that it is the most economical and friendliest gym ever. I had some medical disabilities and went to the guy to increase my strength and flexibility. There I found that I could work with a personal trainer for $10 (ten) a session, and that included the gym/membership fee!! There is no other lace that I know of where you can do that. The trainers are great, and many are reaching the end of their graduate school studies at UF. The gym is small and intimate, but you have plenty of space to work out, and they have all the machines you will ever need. Can't recommend highly enough.
Here's a wonderful addition to the many other fitness centers in town. Although on the small side, this coed, clean one is staffed by four-year degree-holding professionals in sports medicine, physical therapy, nutrition, etc. For non-Shands, non-U.F. employees, membership is $19.99 monthly w/ a one-year contract. (Others pay $9.99 monthly as long as they work out a minimum of 12x monthly.) Orthopedics & rehabilitation are specialities here (many insurances are accepted), but this center is for general fitness as well, which is my reason for membership. If you want the assistance of a personal trainer (shared), you'll pay $75 per month; it's nice to be able to select what thirty day periods you want the extra help. There aren't equipment waits here unless you work out early (6:00 AM-ish), but the downer is the limited gym hours on Saturdays & full closure on Sundays. There is a parking garage behind the fitness center; parking is free w/ a validated pass. If you, too, rebel against socioeconomic-exclusive, pretty gyms filled w/ lots of pretty people in brand name workout clothing, this just may be the place for you; it's not the ridiculous $52 monthly you'll pay there for dressed up college kids working part-time to set machines for you. If you aren't in the market for young beauties of both genders, you don't require a pool or more machines than what's necessary to get a good workout, you like to manage your $$$ well, & you just want to get fit or stay fit, this fitness center might be for you. At $19.99 monthly, it's a good deal. If you're still not sure, you can check out the center yourself for free for 7 days.
