“My experience at Lake ENT - Tavares has been great!! I see Dr. Vaught who I would highly recommend. He's kind and patient. At my first appointment for pressure against my right ear drum and behind my right eye, he recommended a sinus CT that I had done. He diagnosed that I had a sinus infection and conservatively prescribed a round of antibiotic but told me that sometimes additional rounds of antibiotics are needed. He was right and I did need additional rounds of antibiotics. Along the way, Dr. Vaught even recommended allergy testing that I had done. At the first visit he also advised me that surgery might be necessary as some types of sinus infections do not respond to antibiotics and require surgery. When my infection didn't clear up with antibiotics alone, he recommended a second sinus CT that showed only a slight improvement. That's when we seriously discussed surgery as a final option. I agreed to the surgery and luckily I did because he found the cause of my infection and told me that surgery was the only way to solve my problem. I checked out the internet just like everyone always does and sure enough Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic both documented that the only way to resolve my type of sinus infection was through surgery. It turns out that being allergic to mold is the major cause of my sinus infection. I am so grateful to Dr. Vaught for handling my case with such care and compassion. It may have taken me months to get from my first appointment to my surgery but every step along the way made sense to me and I feel I received the best medical care from Dr. Vaught. At my surgical follow-up appointment Dr. Vaught discussed with me what I am supposed to do to prevent a recurring infection. Some things will be an adjustment because they are life changing but, I feel confident if I follow Dr. Vaught's medical advice that I will stay healthy.
