My kids have been training at Shotokan Karate Center for almost 7 years now. We are very happy we chose this dojo. The dojo is a not for profit, and all of the instructors are volunteers who really enjoy passing down their knowledge of karate to the students and take an interest in how the students are progressing in their training. I highly recommend Shotokan Karate Center to anyone looking for martial arts training.
A not-for-profit organization that is focused upon teaching rather than money making. The instructors are remarkably patient and can manage classes across a wide range of ages; children and parents sometimes train together in the same class. Have trained at a few other dojo's and the traditional JKA Shotokan instruction here is excellent. Would highly recommend.
I never would have guessed that I would start practicing karate in my 40s, but I have been practicing at the SKC in Coral Springs for two years. I enjoy the all ranks classes; the children and adults training together builds a great community. This dojo is a not-for-profit, which also changes the vibe - it is about practicing karate and creating a community. The teachers are all amazing- they can effectively explain techniques to students of all ages and ranks, and they are so patient with us beginners.
