“A newspaper ad led me to consider Selina Nails and Day Spa in Freedom Plaza near the Brownwood Hotel in The Villages, Florida. Their website convinced me to make a pedicure appointment. Why? The emphasis on cleanliness, a relaxing atmosphere, qualified techs and reasonable prices were qualities I was searching for. Selina uses 100% disposable jet liners, autoclave for nail tools and disposable pedicure and manicure kit. Their products are professional grade. All salon staff are professionally certified and exceptionally friendly. The business prides itself in being priced competitively with nail salons in the region. A 10% discount is offered on any full service for parties of six or more. 10% off coupons are offered from time to time in The Villages Daily Sun newspaper. Gift cards can also be purchased. I was matched with Karly who is an experienced, conscientious and excellent tech. She took time to listen to my concerns about my feet and worked diligently to improve them. I appreciated the extra care she took to trim and shape the nails followed by products designed to soften and soothe. The leg massage and hot towels provided the relaxation I was hoping for. Her polish application skills are outstanding; she applied a base coat and two coats of polish at my request along with a shiny topcoat. Karly ensured that the polish did not smudge by adding two sets of toe separators. She invited me to relax in the chair as long as I needed for the polish to dry. While doing so, I observed other techs putting new liners in the tubs and wheeling out new stations with tools and products for the next client. I counted 15 pedicure chairs and as many or more manicure chairs. A steady flow of clients came in including two couples for pedicures. The salon employs three receptionists to manage the bookings. A variety of services and price points are available including express mani and pedis, dipping, waxing, and nail enhancements. The salon offers VIP Treatment Seating in private rooms for relaxation and comfort on special occasions. The couple who owns the salon are on site and work alongside their techs. If you are looking for a well- run, professional salon, consider Selina Nails and Day Spa. The salon is open Monday-Saturday 9-6. Did I mention the complimentary (one glass per client) beverage menu of water, wine, non-alcoholic, and alcoholic beverages? If Selina offered massages, I might never leave.“
